Henrik Tallinder signs PTO with Hartford, looms like every veteran D-man will pass through the Wolf Pack at some point.
I wrote a few weeks ago that the Rangers should play Duclair until the last possible minute a decision has to be reached on allowing him to go to Team Canada at the WJC. If he is playing well and should stcick here, don't send him. If he was benched or struggling, then allow him to go, build his confience and bring him back after the games. Seems like a win-win for all, save for possibly Team Canada. |

4 goals, 4 assists, +4 in 18 games.
To put that in perspective, that is on pace for 18 goals and 36 points over 82 games. Great production for a third liner, and he should at least be in the lineup every night, be it 3rd or 4th line. - MyBoyStepan
So who would you take out of last nights lineup to make room for him?
I agree with you, he's definitely worthy of a roster spot, but where? If I'm AV (which I am by the way ) I'm not breaking up that young third line. Too much upside that seems to be gelling as of late. Give them a few more games and they might be our stud line. I wouldn't take Fast off the fourth, either. He seems to be that spark player we were missing.
I think that leaves us with Glass. |

Wouldn't mind swapping Stepniak in and out with Fasth and Glass. Its nice to have the option to play him when you need him too. He can def play. |

Glass would be my choice. Stemp has a much higher upside. |

Wouldn't mind it, not like glass fights anyone anyway. I think Klein has more fights than glass. |

I can't even fathom making our team weaker to help Team Canada. Hell no. - jimbro83
I don't see releasing a guy getting regular ice in the NHL to play in the WJC. It's like Hodgson saying he wanted Sturridge and Sterling on the England under 21s. Not that Liverpool is going anywhere. But there's no sense in guys playing with grown men to go play with kids and weakening the club team for a national team. |

Kid really is in a great spot for development:
The team is competitive and hungry to do better than last year which means a cup win so he has a solid atmosphere. Not a team used to losing like Edmonton.
He has plenty of established star players who have a reputation for being good in the locker room to serve as mentors.
Because of the aforementioned star players he doesn't have to be 'the guy' even if this is NY.
He gets to experience the pressure of a big market like NY with an original 6 club and not be in the true spotlight.
He has a coach who likes an up tempo transition game and line mates that can skate with him.
All of that said if he shows up every day with a good attitude ready to work (and I mean work) at being a professional and getting better every shift there is no way I would want to pull him out of that environment. Bench him occasionally sure. That is part of the growth process.

A lot of people, (both here and in Sweden), questioned Talinder getting picked for the Swedish (silver medal) team in Sochi. He got picked ahead of Hedman and Stralman so how bad can he be? At the very least he's an awesome insurance policy. Maybe Sather is stockpiling D-men so he can make a deal at the deadline( assuming every body's healthy). This is not Tomas Kaberle. |

He's no Hedman, that's for sure. Sather seems to have a fetish for NHL-calibur defensemen so I guess he's just trying to get his fix in. |

I hope not. I like the depth. Having a guy like Moore or Hunwick ready in the wings if there is an injury is a great luxury. Don't forget that just earlier this year, we had McDonagh, Moore, Klein, and Boyle all out. Can never have enough NHL defensemen. |

I agree, it's not like Moore is hurting the Cap and Hunwick with his speed has been a pleasant surprise, who knows maybe Tallinder is just another vet to help the baby Rags to a Calder Cup |

You have to figure he is just joking around, but when you actually watch the video, his tone and facial expressions don't necessarily come off as jocular. Pretty funny.
