Basically without saying names he trashed the coaching and some of the players but it would seem pretty obvious who he was talking about.

Is Hall really untouchable at this point, or can he be acquired in the right deal? With Shattenkirk's emergence this year, I'd be on board with a Pietrangelo + Berglund + prospect for Hall + Schultz swap. The cap hits work, but is the swap of talent good enough? No doubt Petro stabilizes the EDM back line, but is Berglund good enough to slot in at 2C?

last time i checked Hall was far and away the best player in that trade. i think if you ask most people who know how good hall is they don't think that deal is that great for edmonton.

Oh I agree Hall is a great player... but Krejci is a great player, Hamilton is a great young dman and Reilly Smith is turning into a stud.. Oils will have to upgrade the Arco and Aulie part of the deal BIG TIME.. those 2 are garbage

Chris VandeVelde for the Oilers next 37 first round draft picks.

I mean, those draft picks have zero NHL production, and VandeVelde has a whole fistful of NHL points. He's the best player in the deal right now, so it's a clear win for Edmonton.

For all we know, with all the teams looking for defensemen, you probably don't even get Yandle for that price.

Edmonton needs to make a move but it just feels like they are going to get bent over when they do.

If it was easy, we would have seen moves already. I think other GM's smell blood and aren't making reasonable offers.

Ya I mean that's the type of player he is, he's not really a "makes others around him better type". That being said he plays in the show, and has the talent to be a little more creative.

Kudos to Perron though, someone has to say something. I'm really surprised someone hasn't stepped up to the plate and ripped some of the guys.

This is incorrect. Hall is the one p!ayer in our lineup that makes anyone better that he plays with. He puts up points year after year no matter who he plays with. And other guys out up points playing with him.

So I guess what I would be asking then is: Is Pietrangelo "that guy"?

The vultures are circling again, putting the team in a poor position trade wise with the sense of urgency there is. If there is a true leader on the Oilers management team now is the time to step up and lead by example.

I think he's saying that you rarely win a deal where you trade the best player on your team for less than one of the best players on another team.

There are some star for depth deals that have worked, but not a ton.

He is one of the best LWs on the planet, he's young, and he's on one of the best deals in the NHL. He is by far Edmonton's best player. It takes top 20 for the Oilers to move him.

If you flipped the prospect you could probably make the value work, but Oshie is one of those players that is more valuable to his current team (mostly marketing and ticket sales) than he is to someone else. He also wouldn't fit the need at C for EDM because he hasn't played it since college to my knowledge.
