with 100% of the games being played against Western conference teams. Which in comparison to this year so far, is an infinite amount better.
- SpoiledByOil

Yeh. You gotta think that has to change with the Oilers next 15 or so games against the West

You didn't really state anything. Are you saying the system doesn't work or the players aren't playing it properly?

If it is the system MacT should be canned too as i'm sure systems is something a GM would talk to a coach about BEFORE he hired him. At least I hope so.

- The-O-G

I'm saying that even if the players play the system well, which I think they do some nights, the glaring issues are still present.

I don't like the system, and the coach that is planning it.

I hate this management. Bring in Garth Snow, at least he is bold enough to try and fix his teams needs and had been relatively successful even with some blunders.

Krueger record is of only 48 games (before ass canned) is better than Eakins first 48 and Eakins first 48 are better than his second 48 games

OK fair enough.

I would then go back to my point: Shouldn't MacT also be held accountable for the system? I'm sure they discussed it, I'm sure he liked it, I'm sure he gave Eakins his blessing.

So you won't be happy until the whole organization is fired?

You think that is realistic?

From my recollection, I do believe professional hockey franchises do fire their Prez and GM to make room for a better alternative. You haven't seen this happen in the NHL?

Is everyone involved with the oil scared to make a move to at least try to improve?

I always use STL as the template when debating this piece... They were (frank)ing dead last and a sinking ship- they quickly changed coaches and BOOM- been a contender ever since...
- saskoil21

We are close to this point. We don't have the team St Louis did when they changed. But they went from a run and gun guy (like Kruger) to Hitchcock (more defensive style ala Eakins). I'm not on board with all of Eakins decisions but his style once we get the proper d and center depth will win more than Kruger.

We are all growing tired of your unsubstantiated quips. Provide some insight. Makes you look more knowledgeable than you really are.

You still coaching a NHL player son? You were bragging about that for years... Or was that just more horse poop coming out of that anus you call a mouth?

The thing is they've already tried that bullpoop and there is no guarantee it will work if they try again.

You have to be realistic too, changes like that take time. This season had some promise for the Oilers before it started, and it hasn't worked out. But 20 games in you can't just fire everyone. It takes time.

I mean, wasn't it?

We had Dubnyk and Labarbara to start last year, and they sucked. You give Chabot the benefit of the doubt that the goalies tanked, but seeing our supposedly better goalies do just as badly, and seeing Dubnyk at least bounce back in an other organization (not just because he's playing on a better team, he looks WAY more comfortable), isn't that a decent final straw?

Why don't we say this though: They should have been fired this offseason. But even if one cedes this point, how is that an argument against firing them now?

- Morris

I'm not saying he shouldn't be fired but when oil fans start using the firing to defend oil management it's a bit too much. Smoke and mirrors. The real problems still exist.

I do that for effect. Drives people crazy.

What's with all the name calling? Why is everyone so angry? I didn't train your goaltenders, draft your players, develop your prospects, or coach your team.

Direct your anger at the people who deserve it. Start here:

classic troll move. Start calling names. Then try to turn it around and try to look innocent.

Try again. Your trolling is LAME.

Yep, I think MacT is too blame as well. He was a better coach/player than he is a GM.

He's overpaid on signings (which you have to at times), I don't think he is skilled at evaluating talent, and the choice to sign two young unproven goalies was nuts. I get signing Scrivens, but I would think signing a Vet would have been a smarter move (like the Flames did) to play along with him and take the pressure off.

Only if Milburry brings along Hrudy, Healy and Kypreos. All of those guys knew their poop!

Haha (frank) man...honestly i've supported Eakins because one of my friends played for him along the way and said he's an awesome coach/guy. It also is hard to say that find ANOTHER coach will solve the problem. But at the end of the day they might just have to clean house.
- The-O-G

Coaching wasn't a problem to begin with, we made it a problem. Because apparently we didn't have enough problems already

He was all pumped up about Eakins fitness philosophy. Because everyone knows the biggest issue with the average NHL player is their fitness levels

He got fooled by Howsen into Nikitin

And Chabot wanted Fasth over Hiller

He made some good moves and some bad moves. Needs a good one right about now.

You're acting like the only way to improve the oil is to fire everybody and that there aren't people in the organization that are trying to make improvements. MacT has made a pile of moves since becoming GM, granted not all of them good but he at least has been willing to make changes unlike his predecessor.
