You're assuming he's here for actual debate. He's not.

if they handed out draft picks after a debate you would have a cupboard full of first rounders

So are you saying that the current management regime has a hard time properly evaluating their own management team? After 15 years of poop goaltending?

Why now? Timing seems off. Not one of you has answered this question. Why wasn't this done in the off season? Was the last 20 games the final straw? The timing just seems really strange but we are talking about oil management here.

They (frank) everything up.

- bloatedmosquito

I mean, wasn't it?

We had Dubnyk and Labarbara to start last year, and they sucked. You give Chabot the benefit of the doubt that the goalies tanked, but seeing our supposedly better goalies do just as badly, and seeing Dubnyk at least bounce back in an other organization (not just because he's playing on a better team, he looks WAY more comfortable), isn't that a decent final straw?

Why don't we say this though: They should have been fired this offseason. But even if one cedes this point, how is that an argument against firing them now?

Go back and read your first post. Which had two incorrect statements.

Then (frank) off...

- Iggysbff

You are wrong and you know it. You're just being a little thin-skinned right now because you know your team is a giant pile of poop and there are no more legitimate excuses to defend it.

You are losing an arguement (like you usually do) so you result to name calling and emoticons as a retort. Because you got nothing. You got no game sir.

Oh by the way, you just got female dog-slapped.

I don't think anybody can say a different coach wouldn't get an immediate result or not. I doubt there are many coaches that could do any worse however.
- rathagor

I always use STL as the template when debating this piece... They were (frank)ing dead last and a sinking ship- they quickly changed coaches and BOOM- been a contender ever since...

Dubnyk also accredited his turn around to Arizona's goalie coach.

I get that it is on the players, but they are playing the coaches system. And that system along with how well the players play it dictates the outcome.
- moondawg

You didn't really state anything. Are you saying the system doesn't work or the players aren't playing it properly?

If it is the system MacT should be canned too as i'm sure systems is something a GM would talk to a coach about BEFORE he hired him. At least I hope so.

gotta love a guy who pats himself on the back during a debate, even if you were winning/had won, it automatically makes you look pathetic and stupid.

So if your evaluation of the Chabot firing is entirely dependent on the other big moves the oilers make or don't make, isn't that a great indication your frustrations towards the move are misplaced?
- Morris

No. The problems the oil have is systemic. It's not just one person or position that has created this huge pile of dung; it's an entire system at fault. The ones who created this situation have to take the fall, not some fringe manager or positional coach. The treatment needs to start top-down.

I have never been sold on Eakins and after last season less so, however I did plan on giving him 20 games this season to prove himself. If he didn't get 20 point in the first 20 games then i'd be all for firing him.

So you won't be happy until the whole organization is fired?

You think that is realistic?

I was pissed the moment we turfed Renney, then again when we turfed Kruger. Now we have this flaming pile of poop called Eakins in here and i'm ready to go (frank)ing postal.

Krueger record is of only 48 games (before ass canned) is better than Eakins first 48 and Eakins first 48 are better than his second 48 games

I hate this management. Bring in Garth Snow, at least he is bold enough to try and fix his teams needs and had been relatively successful even with some blunders.

with 100% of the games being played against Western conference teams. Which in comparison to this year so far, is an infinite amount better.

Haha (frank) man...honestly i've supported Eakins because one of my friends played for him along the way and said he's an awesome coach/guy. It also is hard to say that find ANOTHER coach will solve the problem. But at the end of the day they might just have to clean house.

I do that for effect. Drives people crazy.

What's with all the name calling? Why is everyone so angry? I didn't train your goaltenders, draft your players, develop your prospects, or coach your team.
