You're usually a better quality of troll...this is pathetic.

We are all growing tired of your unsubstantiated quips. Provide some insight. Makes you look more knowledgeable than you really are.

You still coaching a NHL player son? You were bragging about that for years... Or was that just more horse poop coming out of that anus you call a mouth?

Haha...seriously though. He doesn't get enough credit. They are a great pairing and both benefit equally IMO.

Brodie would still be great on his own, but not as good I agree.

I agree. Brodie is a great player

Nope. Gordon is too important. I think he's probably near the top of Mact's list of guys he doesn't want to part with.

Nope, it's just a move that has no effect on the teams performance this season. Why don't you wait until an off season to fire a guy? Why at the 20 game mark of this season. It this move going stop this ship from sinking?

Don't be fooled. This is a PR move to show simple-minded fans that oil management cares about this franchise and want to create a situation where thier players can succeed. BS.

Maybe it doesn't do anything right away or not. However our goalie problem didn't happen over night either. It took time for our goalies to go from decent to crap, and it stands to reason that it will take time to from crap to decent again, the sooner that process starts the better for the organization.

At some point it has to be on the players though. Losing that bad (although Chicago) is.on the players, the same way it's on the Leafs players losing 6-2 and 9-2 to buffalo and Arizona respectively. And I, as most Leafs fans, hate Randy.
- walshyleafsfan

I get that it is on the players, but they are playing the coaches system. And that system along with how well the players play it dictates the outcome.

Hehehe. Seriously though, Canucks fans have quieted down since 2011. There are really only about 20 - 30 posters here on Hockeybuzz, and a few of em are trolls, but they often just poke the bear. It's all in good fun.
- moondawg

I know, I know. It's just great that all Canadian fans have rivalries with other Canadian fans. It's fun.Unlike the Muricans.

Plus, I hope EKs kids enjoy their PS4s, XBOX1s and new cars this Christmas.

What if the oilers make a huge trade in the next 4 days, bloated? Is it still going to be bullpoop that the oilers happen to announce the firing of Chabot first? Actually second, because as I said the first thing they did was give Eakins a public vote of confidence.
- Morris

It all depends on the huge move is. If they are going to fire the maintenance crew next then yes it's still bullpoop. If MacT and Lowe are gone next then the Chabot firing is not a complete waste of time.

Wow, is that support for Eakins. Do you actually like what he has done for your team?
- moondawg

hahaha, no, I don't support Eakins. I just don't spew off at every chance because it doesn't provide anything relevant.

Bench Jultz. That's my request for Eakins.

Yeah no doubt.

And as much as it looks like I'm trolling, I am actually trying to see if the HB Oilers fans like what Eakins is doing out there.

Yup. But at some point surely to god they just start playing hockey. They've played it their wholes lives. I doubt at this point they are listening to Dallas. I don't think the Leafs players.have listened to him in 18 months

Yeah, I guess it is old news for you guys, but when a goalie coach is fired, it looks like it is just a bit of food for the masses to chew on. Take the heat off of Eakins.

Yeah, that first post was pretty roll-like, hence my reply.

As for Eakins, I don't believe many support him, but we also understand that MacT is keeping him. There's a chance that Eakins may be relieved in the offseason, but that is doubtful.

There are many flaws with Eakins deployment. Yakupov's retained ice time regardless of his improvement and positive results. The high icetime for both Nikitin and Jultz even though Petry and Fayne are better dmen and provide better results. there are others.

We aren't happy, but we know there's no change coming in regards to Eakins. But, changing out Eakins isn't going to provide an immediate result.

So are you saying that the current management regime has a hard time properly evaluating their own management team? After 15 years of poop goaltending?

Why now? Timing seems off. Not one of you has answered this question. Why wasn't this done in the off season? Was the last 20 games the final straw? The timing just seems really strange but we are talking about oil management here.

They (frank) everything up.

A few players and MacT as well identified that the results aren't Eakin's faults. However, it was identified a while ago that Chabot has had no positive outcomes with this involvement of the goaltending.
