I understand that but how does he put him out there to start overtime in 4-on-4? The guy tripped over his own skates and almost caused a breakaway after we WON a faceoff. He took a horrific penalty, gave the puck up at least 5 times, constantly failed to get the puck out of the zone. WE have much better options in B-port for call ups (Czurczman, Mayfield, Pullock, R-hardt). Strait needs to go away - niteislander
Like Dan said we got a shut out. Playing a team defense right now and it's wroking. Our fwds have enough hockey sense lately to cover for defense short comings they did it with Donovan a half dozen times last night. Leave those kids in Bdgpt we finally have the depth to develop these kids slowly and properly especially while the Soundtigers are playing as good as they are. |

You make it sound like Capuano sat deHaan to play Strait. Two guys got sick and the 7th and 8th defensemen did what they are there to do...fill in. - eichiefs9
He played the "7th or 8th" D-man for 19 friggin minutes. 19!!!! |

Mayfield has been in b-port for 3 years. He is a MUCH better option than Strait. |

Donovan played Worlds better than Strait last night. Watch the game tape. Strait played 4 minutes more than him ... please tell me they were showcasing him to move him b/c otherwise our coach is a complete moron. |

Kuleimin back checking saved at least 2 goals last night. I am very happy with him on the wing b/c Ok has full on reverted to not bothering in the defensive zone at all.. If he even gets to the D-zone. - niteislander
Kuli & Grabo were nice additions that all TOR fans bragged how bad it was to over-pay for 2 guys. 1st - had to slightly over-pay but when that contract is over both players will be on the younger side of 30, 2nd - isles couldn't land the big fish in FA but were still able to get quality 2nd tier type of players w/defensive presence (which lacked on team) |

Having those 2 guys and Franz is just awesome. 1 top defensive minded forward on each line. |

Can Snow trade Strait so this idiot Cap stops playing him.. He is just terrible. (and by the way.. Yes Donovan is better than Strait.) - niteislander
I almost lost my shat when overtime started and Strait fell flat on his ass on the faceoff and Philly spent the next 40 seconds humming in the zone. |

Reinhart was not good when he was here. That doesn't mean anything, but he doesn't belong here right now. All of those guys are better served playing more minutes in Bridgeport. |

If we lost that game b/c of Strait.. and we EASILY could have you guys would be destroying him right now... not sure why you are arguing this point. Dumb penalty, tons of turnovers, failed to get puck out of zone, and just for fun tripped over his own 2 feet.
If he plays agains the Caps he will cost us the game. |

Philly scored zero goals. Is Strait a good defenseman? Hell no, but this team is good enough to make up for his lack of skill and still win games. Pulling a kid out of Bridgeport to hustle his ass to the Island to play one or two games is silly. You would have had to put Strait on waivers and send Donovan down just to bring two guys up and then send them back down and recall Strait and Donovan? That's nonsense. They are the extra defenseman for a reason and we used them as such. |

Neiderreiter with his 10th goal of the season. - JohnScammo
So much for Nino only being a third liner. Hard to be upset about it though with the Isles rolling. Cannot believe the dynasty team never had this start. |

They couldn't make a call because if their roster space and you aren't getting someone from bport to Long Island in an hour at 5p. Bport to Long Island at 5p on a Monday is a 2 to 3 hour drive with traffic.. Guys got sick.. Strait got us through the game |

Good for him, If he grew up and becomes a good player, good for him. I don't care about players who don't want to be here |

Just a shame things did not work out better. Nino could have been the winger for JT we are looking for. It's fine we can move on. Just find it interesting some Isles fans thought he was just a third line player. |

when he fell down with the puck off the ot faceoff I just about lost my mind. The guy is just not an NHL defenseman.

we got through the game despite strait. That's a pretty important distinction.

fully agree and that's one trade I'd be fine with making again - players who want out don't get full value in trades but moving them out is the right thing to do.

I'm so curious as to what's going to happen with Grabner when he comes back. Martin, along with the rest of the fourth line, really stepped up their play of late. I literally can't figure out where, or even if, Grabner slots into the lineup. |

Yes you could, word is they first knew in the morning, Bport was off today, so you call in the morning and have them get on that boat that docks outside the rink 1 hr 30 to port jeff and and 1 hr 30 to the col. if you call at noon they are there by 4

Idk either, he can be useful and is also expendable, so its a nice problem to have.... |
