He's one of the worst writers in the city. I doubt he watches any hockey outside of the Flyers. If your only viewing of the Isles is when they play the flyers, you aren't going to think highly of them.
- PhillySportsGuy

On the other hand, I fully endorse every single player in the CHL, AL, and NHL sucker punching Ho Sang at all times.

They can still offer him until July 1. I don't see them doing it. If he doesn't get an entry level deal I guess they could still pursue an AHL deal beyond July.
- mayorofangrytown

The way he's playing, I bet somebody tosses him a regular NHL ELC.

Flyers will extend their winning streak to 2 games tonight
- funmaster18

And then go on a 4 game losing streak.

Exactly. You never hear a scout say those things as primary attributes about a skilled player.

To be fair, Tim has probably watched zero Isles games the past fifteen years that didn't involve the Flyers
- Jsaquella

It's the stache. He has to wax that thing precisely for 3 hours to be able to see over top of it. You can't expect him to put in that kind of effort for non-Flyers viewing.

I currently live in Indy and I've gone to a few fuel games. He is so goofy, awkward, and useless its not even funny.

That's for sure. Flyers have dominated us and we haven't exactly been the pillar of success but we had a lot of the pieces Snow had in place from drafting in the top 5 for six yrs. You'd have to live in a vacuum to not be aware of the talent being there. Pretty obvious we've been rebuilding for the last six years. . This offseason was huge for us with Halak, Leddy, Boychchuck, Grabovski, and Kulemin being added. I've never been a fan of Snow but I have to give credit were it's due.

Timmy P wondering how Islanders are in first place and calls the Macdonald trade a bad one for the Isles

He sacrificed a lot of future assets to get those pieces. He also paid a lot for grabo and kulemin. They're definitely improved but it could come back to hurt them. Trading away picks and spending a lot in FA is how the Flyers got into their mess

Just realized....the Flyers had more points during the streak than they did in all of 2006-07

You need to be more optimistic. It will only be a 3 game skid this time

"A rebirth no one saw coming."

Anyone who was paying attention to the growth of our players(Nelson, Strome, Hamonic, DeHaan, Okposo, and even Cizikas and Martin to a degree)saw it coming. We just needed to add some vets and goaltending. AMAC trade was one of Snow's best. We grabbed Ho Sang moving up in the draft with one of the two picks. Kid looks like the real deal

- Cptmjl

Yes, the Islanders got by the astute Timmy P. Shame on the lottery bound Islanders for trading for quality picks for a guy who was going to (and did) get overpaid while the Islanders have younger, cheaper, and better Dmen waiting in the wings.

He gets paid for his opinions believe it or not

Yet his opinions are often based off of incorrect information and lack of research.

The thing is we are pretty deep in reference to prospects still. Reinhart, Mayfield, Pulock. Ho Sang, Dal Cole. Not saying skipping a draft is ideal but we are almost in a position prospect wise that we can. I think we are still considered top 5? Leddy is 23 and an RFA who we will get signed and if we can get Boychuck signed that's another 4 useful yrs out of him. With Reinhart and Pulock tearing up the AHL and Hamonic, DeHaan, and to a lessr extent Hickey already in place the blue line looks set for a long time.

The cap hits are significant for Kulemin and Grabovski but with the value contracts we have in place for our core long term it's not a huge deal for a team that was scraping the floor. Those two have been a huge part of our success on top of it. Boychuck especially if signed 2 seconds is a huge underpayment and the Leddy trade was a steal at this point. He's been that good borderline incredible. Hawks fans biggest gripe was his defensive game. He's been incredible in his own end and offensively.

Geez, sorry. Didn't realize how long this was.

The real question is: Are you guys still paying Alexei Yashin?

Is this game a trap tonight... for the Islanders?

After playing Tampa and then 2 against the Pens, it almost seems like that.

My how things have changed.

I believe this is the last season due to us buying him out. I think it's somewhere around a 2 million cap hit this season than it's gone .

2 against Tampa and then 2 against the Pens both home at homes. Schedule has been a SOB for us.

Man, he's already making teams that passed on him regret it. Dal Colle + Ho Sang in the same round, same draft... not too shabby.

That was an insane deal, looking back. It's like having some ex-girlfriend who broke your heart call you every day and talk about her great new boyfriend for, what, 12 years?
