Worst part of that game? 10k other times that was them and a rookie goalie previously 0-12 got his 1st win

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a 6-5 esque score tonight! Similar to our game against Dallas earlier this year, both teams might leave the defense at home.

Lol well that didn't happen. Good game guys. Mason is an animal

I said this 2 weeks ago, I'll say it again.

One line teams with mediocre dmen don't make the playoffs.

The team just isn't a good mix.

The first line is solid. A great line that seems to have chemistry.

2nd line needs better wingers. Yes I know what Read and Simmonds do and I like them but I would rather give Couturier more skilled wingers. Simmonds is more of a net front presence and Read, while he does have offensive skills, isn't this pure sniper. If we are going to be critical of Couturier's offense lets first get him some wingers. I think a guy like Evander Kane on his wing would be nice. Plays a similiar gritty game to Simmonds but more offensivlly skilled.

3rd line is a mess. Laughton has been a nice addition but Vinny and Umberger are giving nothing. I watched the Isles through a kid line out. I almost feel that would be better. Lerier, Laughton, Alderson, Straka. There are teams out there looking to shake things up. Would you use a 2nd Rounder and Vinny and see if you can get Thorton or Marleau from SJ as they want to shuffle things up too? Maybe Coburn, Vinny, Read and a pick for Thorton and Burns? I don't know.

4th line does it's job and really isn't the reason for stuggles. Rinaldo has cut down penalties and has done some nice things. And even seems to get pressure on PK and not be passive. Bellemare was a great find as he could be a solid 4th line center and guy to move up and down lineup as needed.

4th-line was the only one that didn't have the ice tilted against them last night. VL line has gone back to being a black hole, despite Laughts' best efforts.

Yeah.

It's tough. I like guys like Simmonds, Read, Coburn but I think they are our best assets to change the mix without a complete change like when Richards and Carter were dealt.

I know Coburns value here but is he really going to lead u to a cup. Would it be better to use that value and make a package to get a legit socring winger? Then next year let a guy like Hagg or Alt or Morin step in on the back end.

I agree but that is what we have. Is Couturier a 2nd line Center? He is on pace for a 34 point season. This team is very unbalanced up front and will not make the playoffs with this kind of production from lines 2-3. If Hextall wants to make playoffs, then changes will have too be made.
The Isles just controlled that game last night and it looked as if the Flyers were just trying to hold on all night

I think hextall knows what he has. I really think he will make some moves at the TDL. I think the Flyers have peices playoff teams could use going into the playoffs or for a playoff race. I think we'll see him do his work there. A guy like Coburn could possibly get you a first rounder to a team needing a top for dman for the playoffs. Read could have value to a team needing forward depth.

I still like this approach best. They have some very good Dmen developing right now, and I'd say any one of them could replace Coburn, ultimately. Trade Coburn, and get a nice draft pick for the upcoming draft. It's gonna be a good one, take advantage of it while you can, if you can. Or at the very least, package him in a deal for an established winger in the league.. either way..

What a shame Mason wasn't rewarded by an absolutely stellar performance. He literally stole a point.

Scary how much better the Islanders are. They were missing two regular defensemen last night and still ate the Flyers lunch in all 3 zones.

My question is, how the hell are the Fishsticks doing this without AMac?
