Lay down another beat down please and thank you. Signed everyone in Canada west of British Columbia. - al3535
Funny this comment coming from a coilers fan... I guess he thinks Canada has taken over the Pacific Ocean, but then, I suppose that would be part of British Columbia. maybe he's really saying that no one in Canada wants a beat down.
loads of Nux fans at every Nux/ Oilers game and for the Nux/ Flames so maybe he's one of the legions of Canucks nation members in Alberta...
The Hawks looked like they were just floating around. no intensity, no push, just happy to get 4 points in alberta i suppose. figured they had a built in excuse to lose this one with the 3g/4d excuse, which they tried not to peddle on comcast, but still they had to mention it a few times near the end of the game... |

I am deffinately not trying to write him off or sending under the bus. It' s the hype by management that is frustrating. I believe the Hawks staff did not do the right thing by keeping him in Findland last year. TT should Have been working with our Strength Staff for the last two years and playing against better and more physical competition. The Finish league was not the answer. - spanky
This hype by management that frustrates you is an Urban Legend! No one is in management is hyping him, In fact, I would bet if you ever could speak to them about it, they would tell you they are more than happy to give him a couple years in the A.
Plenty of others to fill in while he gets used to the size of the ice and matures.
Its been said thousands of times that the hawks are using the "old" Detroit model where guys are past ready to come up when they do. When you do this, guys can come in and play and contribute right away.
Did Danault look out of place in the last two games? Would he have last year? Could Hartman be up right now? Would he be better if he came up next year or the year after?

Well the boys had their fancy pants on for this game, and as a result, turned it over a lot, and spent most of the night shooting low percentage shots from the perimeter. - Return of the Roar
Yep, except look where their goal was scored from. Good on Versteeg for going to the net. 3 in 4 nights on the road and the nucks were waiting for em. I think cutting them a little slack for this game is not out of line. |

Good point.
No, Danault wouldn't have been able to cut the mustard last season in Chicago. I'd believe that Hartman would be lost out there if brought up to Chicago now. |

a loss is a loss but crow "stole" this one from being a blow-out...
hawks were looking for a bed and a cold one the whole game...miller never came close to experiencing a hawk surge..

McKenzie: "I think everybody outside of Taylor Hall, for the most part, is in play. And I mean everybody."
McKenzie: "David Perron, by the way, is fully in play. In my mind, if they get the right fit, he's as good as gone."
sounds like EDM ready to pull the trigger on the shakeup finally after the Chicago beat down |

Edmonton would be stupid (ok more stupid) if they kept Hall over Eberle. Hall is a punk that is going to have a short career if he doesn't clean up his act. |

I'm here boys. Part three of my 3 game roadtrip, flew in from Edmonton this morning. I can see Rogers Arena from my hotel room. I was expecting at least 2 wins and now shooting for 3 . The Canucks are pretty good so far this year BUT I am feeling good about the Hawks again tonight! 4-2 Hawks. - HawkfaninBC

You're not wrong about Teuvo avoiding contact on the ice. However, you do have to take into consideration that he's played approximately two dozen games in North America so far. It's going to take him some time to acclimate to the smaller ice and more physical game.
The question is how long it take him to acclimate, if he does at all?
There have been some small improvements since the start of the season - glimpses of what he's advertised by the organization to be. I'm hoping that he'll put it together sooner rather than later. For now, he's as you say - a long way off.
Perhaps that changes sometime by the end of January or February? Maybe he shows a different game come training camp next season? In sum, I believe that it is too early just to write off Teuvo. - EKolb13

Huh?
I would take Hall over Eberle 8 days a week
Hall is an elite talent
Eberle is just a very good player |

Management did not hype him. Fans and bloggers did. Big time. Some of whom owe some gigantic apologies that will no doubt never be made. |

So is OV, but how many SC has he won? Elite talent isn't always the only thing that makes a team. |

Kane looked pretty good to me last night. He was forechecking with good speed and intensity. He needs to keep that up. |

Kane played ok but messed up on that second goal. The great coach Q put Kane out on the pk with 6 seconds left, Kane went for a gamble check and was caught in ozone. bummer.
I thought Bickel played well. Also Carcillo played well the other day, but he defintily was worthless last game.
Toews and Hossa, wow -4 and -3, respectively and Toews 38% at the dot. Hopefully Q understands that he made a mistake. I doubt he does. come on Q, the 3rd line got little action. Skill and desire only go so far on tired body.
BTW, Vancouver rolled 4 lines quite effectively. |

Always sucks to lose to Vancouver. Clendening still suspect in his own zone, but not much worse than Leddy was. Oduya has not been playing well. Bickell showed some good flashes last night. I thought Richards skated great last night, would like to see Danault get more than 7 minutes, hard to get a read on him, but his hustle and forecheck is undeniable. Nordy looks MUCH better this year than previously, like his potential...team was too fancy, sloppy and Vancouver wanted it more. It's one game...Hawks treading around the 8th/9th place level in West. I know they are off to slow start, but that shouldn't be where a "can't miss Cup contender" should be residing. the circus trip gets markedly tougher...I guess taking 1 of next 3 would mean a 6 game split. Yipee.....500 hockey. Sad thing is, I'd be satisfied with that. Watching this team play has lowered my expectations. I still think this is one of the softest teams I've ever seen at a professional hockey level.

Yeah, MacTavish wants a "top center" for a guy with 2 goals on the season.
Did they hire Gillis as a consultant? |

Nordstrom has gotten stronger. Like the fact he looks to finish his checks consistently. Package Morin and another player and keep Nordstrom here. Quennville obviously likes him. Get these lines settled. |

MacT advertising a lot of hopes and dreams in his trade scenarios
Perron just needs new linemates and a change of scenery!
Yakupov just needs a fresh start to get back to 50 goal potential!
RNH will gain 20lb of pure muscle on another team!
Eberle is a PPG+ player, just not here!
Their trade expectations are whats going to really do that team in |

What about shipping Bickell and Sharp away this offseason(both out of necessity, Bickell because he is bad) and then resigning Kruger(3 mil), Saad(3 mil), and Seabrook(5 mil) and then signing a free agent like Drew Stafford around 4 million per year for 4-5 years? Stafford is similar to a sharp, not quite as much offensive output but plays two-ways and has some size/strength down-low.
Thoughts anyone? |

Krueger and Smith are nice players but will never win us a Stanley cup. Watched the Hogs last night and would much rather see Mash and McNeil(I know he did not play) up and Danult stay up |

Drew Stafford is an absolutely awful hockey player. |
