What really makes me chuckle is people say he isn't very good defensively but it is his wingers that are a defensive liability in their own zone, Bozak is actually in the proper spot where he should be, not all the time, not every player in the league is 100% of the time.

Was a great feed by Kessel on his shorthanded goal and emtpy netter because we all know he can't do it without him.

It's pretty accurate though. Just because he is better at it than two players who are pretty atrocious defensively doesn't make him good at it.

You won't get back anything better at centre by trading him, this is just a lateral move, his cap hit to production is actually very good value, go and compare it. It's not a dead weight contract going forward like others on the team. And yes they will miss him until someone else can win an important draw once and a while.

and the faceoff thing is a non factor... whats more important is what you do after whether you win or lose the draw. the leafs won 55% against Nashville

Agreed but I am talking about defensive game in all areas of the ice. That ENTIRE line, not just the wingers very commonly are nowhere to be found in the defensive zone for far too long when the opposition comes down on a rush. He isn't terrible defensively but the notion that he is some defensive specialist is equally laughable.

For all the flak Kadri takes, I can actually remember multiple times this season where he has busted his ass to get back and break up a rush with a defensive play.

apparently you are he has 2 years on his contract at 1 million less per year than Lupul who has is being paid more money for longer term to be a part time player who has no regard for his end of the rink.

save money, shorter term, player plays more games and is solid defensively.....it would be all good for TO and not so much for Florida - which is why it won't happen.
