That would be amazing if we could get Duschene but I'd think he is pretty close to untouchable. I wonder if JVR and Gards would get it done

Generally speaking though, the leafs especially, don't usually make massive deals. But that was one that was on the larger side.

I just don't see it happening.

I'd trade JVR though in a heartbeat for a winger or center who has more grit and takes less nights off. He's my least favorite top 6 forward on our team.

You would need to add if you want a player like Duchene. Centres come at a premium, and he is an elite centre.

JVR is a good starting point. Winger with a great contract. I think Santorelli or maybe Franson could get it done too.

RoR will require too much salary and I just don't see him as worth it.

Is everyone okay here? Who/what started all this Duchene nonsense? Listen, I know the Leafs need a #1 C, and a lot more pieces, to become a cup contender. With that being said, trading is not the answer, trust me. Now what is better here, trading (ex) JVR and Rielly for Duchene, or draft a high skilled player and develop him without giving away good players? Now don't get me wrong here, I am not saying McDavid or Eichle is coming to TOR, but a player like Marner, Strome, or Rantannen. I also know that not just one of them is the answer, but the Leafs are off to a good start with Nylander. Once again don't get me wrong, the Leafs inconsistency is not Randy's fault, but he is not the right fit for TOR. Someone like Oates or Babcock would be better. The Leafs have good goal tending, not the best defense right now, and some good forwards. This team has tons of potential. Think of maybe 5 years.....
