Mezaros makes Myers expendable
Ruhwedel makes Myers expandable
McNabb makes Myers expendable

I have heard this before

Wasn't that Supercat that said that or was it someone else?

Funny how management has the complete opposite thoughts on Myers as people here. Nolan said he's a very serious player that sometimes tries to do too much.

That's why nobody should put much stock into what anyone on here says..., IMO.

It's also funny to me that people don't see how good he is, and was last season.

Yet Nikita Zadarov is the next big thing? Why because he hit someone that one time?

It's mostly the same people that won't let up no matter what. It gets very annoying, kinda like wanting to finish close enough to almost make the playoffs.

I agree with you for the most part, but there's GilPerault11 who is a complete wizard: I hang on his every word, and everybody else should, too.

That's the irony. We want to be good now..... But trade a good player for a prospect

Myers looks great. Starting the rush and giving the Sabres good chances that they can't bury.

Zadorov looks great.

Girgensons is progressing way better than expected.

Grigorenko and Armia...nuff said.

Pysyk "struggling"...not worried.

Reinhart dominating as he should be. Hopefully he gets stronger.

Next.

Armia was great again last night. Girgorenko set him up with a great pass and he hit the post.

Haven't posted in a long time but I've been reading every day.

Regardless of your opinion of Myers (because he is as tall as Chara does not mean he has to play like him to be effective), the truth of the matter is the Sabres aren't actually deep on defense.

They have Myers, Risto, Zad, Pysyk, McCabe, & Ruhwedel. That's it, even though Florentino looks to have been a great find.

That means, free agents aside, you'd need ALL 6 of your best D prospects to hit, meaning reach their potential or beyond.

While that'd be great, it may not happen, and that's why you don't trade Myers, right now, unless you get a ton, specifically a top line LW which the team badly needs. Trading Myers actually leaves the Sabres quite light on D unless they're somehow drafting 3rd and taking Hanifin this year.

The only way I trade Myers is if I so greatly enhance a position of weakness (LW) that it mitigates how much it would weaken the D depth.

It's also rare to find good top 4 defensemen in free agency without having to overpay.

Good afternoon gents.

With Hamhuis going down with a severe injury, us Nuck's fans are toying with the idea of a potential Myers acquisition!

In y'alls realistic expectations, what would it take?

Lack, Gaunce, Jensen + 1st and second for Myers?

Thoughts would be appreciated.

He'd likely be getting a million more per year at least on the open market.

The funny thing is the concern over his no trade kicking in. It's been shown time and again in recent years that the no trade clauses are close to meaningless.

On the Canucks trading for him, do they have any quality LW prospects? A quality D prospect coming back would be mandatory.

Shinkaruk

But no, not a single quality D prospect to speak off. Don't you guys have a huge surplus of top level D prospects?

All I know is that tanking never works out as easily as it seems. It's crazy...the stuff that post had about the Sabres building a dynasty for 2019/20 and on is the same stuff that has been said about the Oilers for the past 5 years.

- rangerdanger94

Has it ? Not the same at all has Edmonton built their future back end the way Buffalo has . Has Buffalo pushed their high pick ?

Now we know why Myers is getting so many minutes as well. It's a mirage to increase his value while at the same time enhance the tank. Brilliant
- GilPerreault11

Only you could read that into that statement.

It's also worth pointing out that they missed on a lot of their other picks. Most notably Gagner and Paajarvi who were both top 10 picks.

Not saying it can't happen to us but so far Ristolainen, Grigorenko and Girgensons look to be on the right track

Thank you for that ! I can't see that clip enough . And at this point it has nothing to do with the Miller incident . He is just a cheap shot artist .

Why does everyone want to give us spare parts ? It needs to include an impact top six forward.

In Vancouver's case at-least, its because our entire top six is approaching or has already surpassed 30, with Bonino being the exception (whom we can't move).

If Burrows, Higgins or Matthias works that's wonderful or hey, perhaps another tour of duty for Kassian

Horvat, Virtanen and Shinkaruk are hopefully untouchable...

Lack has some real skill however he's caught in a Schneider scenario, he has the potential to be a good starter.
