You don't remember oldpuckvintage? He was the guy who claimed to be a canadian african american genius who lived with millions of dollars in Florida...Maple Leaf fan...He was annoying enough that I brought the alter ego out to drive him up a wall....and thanks

Forgot about him! The most insane of them all was "Jim" (who appended different names after "Jim") and was a Leafs troll who constantly tried to irritate 4cups. They had a long battle about Mike Bossy's record - supposedly Newsy Lalonde back in the 1920s was faster to reach 50 goals - as if anyone cares.

Edit: I think I cheated and looked at your profile.

I won't tell if you don't!

Yeah, OPV was well known on every board throughout the yahoo hockey boards. He'd argue the most lame points, like Backstrom was the greatest goaltender in NHL history at 'that moment' because through his first five games of that season his save percentage was through the roof. Then of course there was TIS

Don't see too many holes right now in this team. If they continue to play this way, this style, who should they fear in the east? Or, dare I say it, the ENTIRE NHL?!?
- Mancalledsting

I just want this team to beat the crap out of the team they play on Monday. That team is mediocre on its best day, but they always gave us fits because of their size. I want to see our new and improved defense knock their mouth guards out as they cross the blue line. We owe them a 10-0 ass whipping in our building for the way they embarrassed us a couple of years ago. Double F***ing Chili...

I have to say that as much as I dislike the Islander, their DJ is killing hit. First some Gaslight Anthem followed up a little later with The Bouncing Souls. Well done.
- Ben37

That's one thing I like- when they play music that I'm not familiar with. I don't need to hear the same sh*t they've been playing for 20 years. They're in New York, not bumbalf**k. No one wants to hear Lynyrd Skynyrd....

Even Stan Fischler called them on that........also mentioned Downie hitting Hamonic after Hamonic was down.
- JohnScammo

We got him back last night, and he hasn't even gotten his beating yet (it's coming, and I'm sure he knows it- Martin or Boulton will knock him out). For those of you who were at the game, it probably looked like a vicious hit, but on the replay from the camera behind the right wing corner you can clearly see that Hickey saw him coming, ran right into him, and dropped flat on his back- that was a soccer foul. That goal put the game away for us.....so thanks, dummy.

The kid was good...I have a friend who is a fan of theirs who has been going off on the fact that they signed Frankenstein to play goal for them forever- he thinks this kid is better, and I'm not so sure he's wrong after last night. We could have won the game 8-1, if it wasn't for him.

I wish THIS year was Isles/Rags at Yankee stadium

Yeah, they wanted to sneak that one in last year, because they knew that sooner or later, we were going to have a stretch where we were going to dominate on a nightly basis. I'm sure we'll get invited again if we're that good- they'll have no choice but to have us involved in one of them. I'd love to play the Devils at Met Life Stadium, so 90,000 people can watch us kick their ass.

JT played hard and got rewarded. Great to see and hopefully the start of things to come.

This team is also better than the team of two years ago.

- JohnScammo

He made at least four or five defensive plays that were outstanding, which is why I wasn't too worried about him scoring. He'll score plenty anyway, in my opinion- if he scores 90 points and is plus 30, I'll take that over him scoring 115 and being -2, any day of the week.

We have the horses to make up for anything JT doesn't provide while he's playing defense....speaking of which, it's amazing how many of us were screaming for the last two years for them to just get us one world class defenseman- they went and got two, plus a top shelf defensive forward, and we went from being a potential playoff team to at least a top three team in the conference.....imagine that. The way Boychuk and Kulemin play defense has rubbed off on all of them- no more skating backwards...they're now just as aggressive without the puck as they are with it. I'm assuming this is what it is, because I can't imagine what anyone said to them to make them do an about face after five years of falling over each other in front of their own net. It has to simply be the example provided by these new guys, as far as I can see.

Very sweet to be in 1st. That kid line is real good. Glad Lee scored that goal. He needs to be in this lineup all the time. Going to be very interesting to see what happens with Grabner.

Here's my thought, and I'm just wondering what you guys think about it: if I'm Snow, what I'm doing right now is trying to get Boychuk's signature on a contract, ASAP, and here's why- if Boychuk is in for another 5 or 6 years, that makes Reinhart expendable. If I can package Reinhart, Grabner and one of the other prospects not named Pulock, Dal Colle or Ho-Sang for a top shelf left wing, then I can move Kulemin to the Nielsen line, and have Martin and Bailey alternate on line four (bye, bye Eric Boulton, but not a big deal to me). Then my extras are either Bailey or Martin, and Conacher, which covers all 3 forward positions, with Strait or Donovan as the extra D. This upgrades my top line without disrupting anything in the process. I'm just wondering if anyone who fits the description is available.

I agree. I wouldn't want to give up Reinhart, would rather a Mayfield or Pelech but, if it lands you a solid 1st liner, he should take serious consideration. Just make sure you don't get fleeced and like you said, make sure Boychuck is locked up. My guess is Pulock takes Viz role if he retires or leaves.

I said it once before, if Boychuk resigns it makes another player/prospect expendable, which I think could be Reinhart. I wouldn't trade any other prospect unless if its a minor prospect like Pearsson, Ness, etc. I do think that Snow either wants E. Kane or Yakapov, which I think Yakapov could be more agreeable on a trade scenario which Isles don't give up much in comparison to E. Kane...

Bailey & Grabner could also be expandable too... Have to keep in mind that Viz usually gets hurt and misses time, so I would try to find another vet dman just in case....

But who's the isles target there? Do they really give up hall or eberle? What is that going to cost? My guess is they dump a guy like Perron, which I don't think is what the isles are looking for.
You're right, the oilers are probably itching to make changes but I don't think they fit unless it is Hall. Other teams probably willing to trade are Buf, (no thanks) Car, (no thanks) probably Phi, not a match for the isles need. Maybe if Bos is really dangling Ericksson but they will look to cash in on him.
Other west coast teams, maybe Col which could be an interesting partner. Don't know much about O'Reilly other than he has done nothing this year offensively and they have had issues with him and a contract, maybe he's a target.

Reinhart I think could have more trade value than others u mentioned & honestly Mayfield has a snarl to his game & can drop the gloves if needed (which could be a need to line-up, so we all don't depend on Martin) Pelech could be a wildcard as all I read about him is that he keeps improving.....

Perron is a very good player, don't undervalue him but I wouldn't give up Reinhart for him either, maybe a Bailey/Grabner.... But I think Yakapov could be Snow's target if Reinhart is moved to Oil country......

I just think it depends on what Snow is able to get in return. It seems they are deep on the back end in bridgeport but not a lot of 1st line potential up front. Everything there seems to still be in juniors.
