I think you under estimate how bad other teams are in our conference and you under estimates the Leafs.
Never too high, never too low - Symba007
i would put money on them missing..
once the other teams ramp up in the final third of the season and the leafs dont (as per the norm with this core).. they fall out of contention and end up with an average pick

A guy can change his mind no? again, I'm hoping this is his move, and this is him maturing and being more willing to step up and lead. - mykokes
He's shown no willingness or desire to change his mind though. There's nothing about his personality that indicates he'd ever want that kind of attention or responsibility. |

not to mention he would be more like Blake in todays nhl.... good thing goalies were small with tiny equipment in those days...... Case in point the PP goal when Boston was called for too many men |

But 30 of those goals were scored by blowing a giant cloud of cigarette smoke into the goalie's face, and then shooting low while the goalie was coughing.
That tactic has since been banned. |

And Gretzky would have his career ended after 10 NHL games. |

ok you need to be called out on this. please detail HOW, if he was behind it and the purpose was a snub, Kessel showed leadership here. - DoubleDown
Lets look back at the week the was....Kessel gets called out for not doing a stupid interview after the buffalo game. Over the next four days, he's out in front of the media giving answers that go beyond his usual. Then the Nashville game happens and he's out in front again.
Now onto last night, the Leafs are up heading into the 2nd intermission, the building is as silent as it was in the Nashville game. Whoever it was, in the dressing room that got his whole team to agree to this "us against the world" mentality, convincing his whole team to do it, whoever stepped up and was that voice, is the true leader of this team.
And as i said, if it was him, it was nice to see him START to show some balls, because too often he was the one backing away from the limelight and gives the impression he doesn't care.
Call me out if you must, but if it was him, all I can say is its about time. |

couldn't say this better. Taking the side of the leafs for the fans being 'mean' is a complete joke. This franchise is rated the worst in sports...yet charges the most. But fans can't be angry????
50 years not even a final appearance. Only team in 10 years to not make the playoffs in a full season.....fans didn't start throwing jerseys etc until recently. Imagine the leafs played in Philly? They'd all quit. Bunch of sucks with no leadership. A leader would come out, say the jersey throwing is wrong but at the same time they deserve it. This team is so gutless and entitled it 's gross. Oh, we beat Tampa, now we can dog it for the next little while is what they are thinking. |

In an era where scoring was much higher and dozens of players were better than a point per game. Kessel started a streak of 30+ goals per season for 6 (on pace for 7) straight seasons at age 21. |
