He's a loser.

His sister is a loser.

When I was in minor atom in the Parkwoods Hockey League, my team (Prince Hotel) came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the championship game 4-3. So I know what winning is all about, and I know what kind of guys you need to win.

Kessel is not one of those guys.

Who even wants a silver medal? And his stoopid family has two of them - neither of which shine as brightly as my Parkwoods Hockey League trophy.

- Atomic Wedgie

That's because you have grit, Wedgie. Of course Kessel's a loser. He got picked last at the All Star Game, and Ovie kicked sand in his face, and he didn't even respond. Since then it's been the same old thing, pile up meaningless goals and points so he can stop the play and get back on the bench and get fatter.

Well if we strip Nylander and not count last year we are left with Reilly, Percy, Leivo, Kadri and Schenn leaving us with 5/42 players from the draft classes of 2008-13 all under Nonis' watch. I know we turned Schenn into JVR but we also dumped three later picks to move up and get Schenn at #5. That is a brutal draft record to me
- shmenge

I wouldn't count out some of the other players just yet. Finn, couple of the D prospects playing in Europe, Gauthier, Bibeau, Brown. The Red Wings have shown that developing picks in the system for several years can pay off.

And I would love to strip Nylander, he's so pretty.

And he's selfish.

Tied for most goals and tied for most points at the Olympics this year (couldn't win either title - because the guy's not a winner) and named top forward of the tournament.

So if he's so good, why didn't his team win?

Simple answer: because Phil only cares about himself and meaningless point totals.

This guy is not a team player.

Let's see that again, shall we? I guess Lucic didn't get a chance to use his crotch hook reach around move.

It's pretty clear, if you take Kessel off that USA team, they would've had been able to use a player with heart. In Vancouver, they made the gold medal game. Kessel scored even more the next time around, and USA took a step back.

All he cared about was showing off to Patrick Kane, so Kane would blow Kessel's ego by saying he was the best player he'd played with, he's unbelievable, blah blah blah. That was Phil Kessel's gold medal, won at the expense of his teammates and his country. I'm not going to say Phil Kessel hates freedom, but really, do you have to say it?

Agree with this as well. I think Chiarelli was on to something when he got rid of Phil. I would take Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight over Kessel. Heck, Hamilton is the B's #1 Dman when Chara goes down. Seguin doesn't look too bad in Dallas as well

I know it's been discussed a lot on here and it has been beaten to do death, but if I was a non playoff team for quite sometime and I gave up a couple of my first round picks for a star player, would you not think to lottery protect them at the very least considering the team hasn't made the playoffs in years????? This baffles me regardless of the Beauchemin and Komisarek pickups in FA.

Phaneuf, Komisarek, Beauchemin. "I think on paper we have one of the best defences in the league" - Brian Burke (and so it goes)

Burke's a home run hitter, he either hits it out of the park, or strikes out embarrassingly. He says something like that, but then he also turns around and somehow manages to trade Jason Blake and Toskala. Or get JVR for Schenn. It's crazy how good some of his moves are, and how questionable some others are.

I don't know what's more glorious... This performance, or the fact there are some attempting to have a legit conversation in agreement.
