Fair enough. Come trade deadline, you just never know when a Milbury shows up out of the woodwork. Here is hoping.... - PhilMcCracken

It's beginning to look like a paparazzi relationship between the players and media, how long before someone throws a punch? |

Both of us commute to Aurora, which isn't too bad, but with the growth over the last while, hopefully more jobs will be available in the area. We will eventually just move to the outskirts for more property. The cookie-cutter backyard just not cutting it.

The problem with calling out Phaneuf on how would it help the Leafs on the ice (In regards to not saluting the fans), is that hockey players have always done strange, superstitious things that don't appear to help them on-the-ice.
Is not touching the conference trophy you win before playing in the finals really going to help you win a cup? |

It's not. He plays huge minutes and puts up solid stats. Why is it ok for Orpik to get 5.5 million yet Phaneuf is the worst contract ever?
Clarkson's contract cannot be moved. Phaneuf's can. |

That's right, Barrie got hit. Must have been an awful commute for you. It's funny how they get hit hard, yet sometimes we see absolutely nothing and we are only 30 mins away. |

Agreed. But not every one. And he's got 6 after this one. I personally don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. |

I never said it was ok to give Orpik 5.5... That was a UFA signing as well. Someone always over pays!!!!

Dion would have gotten 7 on the open market.
There's always an exaggeration of Leaf players contracts. We see bad contracts moved a lot in the NHL.
This idea that Dion is worth about 4 million and is a second-pairing guy (So he's not a top 60- 80 NHL D-Man?) is silly. |

I agree with you as well. There will be a couple of desperate GM's come trade deadline. That's why in my original post, he was indicated as tradeable. Just not to many teams and the return will be low. I agree with him not getting traded anytime soon, but I think the sooner the better. As time progresses, he will slow down and that contract will look a lot worse in a couple of years. |

He may have gotten more on the open market. Doesn't make it the right choice. Ideally I would trade his contract for another bad one with hardly any term if there is a taker. If he made 4.5-5, his trade value would be a lot better, but sadly those 7 years brings the value down immensely, along with the 7 mil. |

Bottom line, Dion is worth a lot more than 4.5-5 million. He can play top minutes and get 30-40 points a season. He typically leads the NHL in QOC. |
