He actually is a bad captain. Probably the worst captain in the league, maybe even the history of the NHL.
- woopstash

After this refusing to wave the stick nonsense.... definitely! I watch the entire game hoping for a win just to see the stick wave...

That's harsh, I don't think anyone could make that call without being in the locker room and part of the team. In reality we have no (frank)ing clue what hes like as a captain, other than what the media tells us hes like

We have no idea? We see every game he plays. A captain isn't the guy who gives a great pep talk at intermission. How he plays and how he is with media is a large part of who he is. And he stinks.

that's all they had to say
they aren't satisfied with their play so far and 1 win is nothing to celebrate.
I guess they didn't have time to think about it before the question was asked.

People tell me that ALL the time. "Hey Woopstash, you should so stand up..." "Woopstash, you're so funny you're like a comedian..." It's like, I get it. I'm hilarious. But a lot of my humor is situational so it's difficult to translate into stand up. I'm like a Seinfeld/Carlin hybrid.

I'd worry about stupidity more than leadership.
"We get scrutinized too much and there's too much media pressure. I think a good way to alleviate this is to do something provocative that we know will get the media in a froth. That should ease the media's tenacity. This is a good plan I think."

I kind of think that the salute is a contrived celebration that has been shoehorned into the NHL since the last lockout. I'm kind of glad that a team said enough is enough and quite pandering to the jersey throwing, waffle tossing, bag wearing boo birds.

Remember when Phil the fat kid was picked last at the all star game? What if Phil and Dion were both on the team. Who gets picked last? Would they both be the last two? If Dion was last, would Phil tell him (frank) you again?
- corunnakid

Did you miss the subsequent all star game?
