Extremely tense moment when Dion Phaneuf was questioned about why specifically scrapping fan salute helps the team .

I want to know why they thought that was a good idea |

Lupul and Booth coming back, does this mean Panik is going to start getting scratched? Actually, who do you guys think will be the scratches?
*tired of the phaneuf talk, noones changing their minds on him. So why bother.
Lou will say he's worthless, which leads to ten pages of one side trying to convince the other. There are better ways to spend a Friday. - mykokes

Not fans, the suits. - Yeti1181
MLSE would be smart to remove all the suits and sell those tickets
problem is
those tickets are 400-600 a pop
greed is part of the issue. |

likely not real but if it is; they know he's not going to have an answer for it
and whatever the real reason is, i still dont care to be honest
id be more pleased if they put that effort forward every night and when the season is done they can salute the crowd. |

Dion isn't the brightest guy. You can tell by the way he talks... He has absolutely no idea what to say to that - Lee Denault
If Dion had half a brain he would have given a proper response like:
"We need to get all lines firing and get pucks in deep"
or
"We have to put in a full three periods. Keep our legs moving"
or
"We have to go out there and give it 110%."
Ya know? Something of substance please Dion. CMON! |

How about this.
Coming to the game? Where a (frank)ing jersey.
I'm not loud when I go to games. But i do stand up and clap and wear a jersey.
Some guys look to embarrassed to stand up and clap like it shows weakness to their business associate sitting beside them |

there are a LOT of rich people in TO
when i go to games
i love being in the blues/purples
why?
cause the real fans are there.
the golds/platinums are usually tickets given to people, suits, or the odd real fan pays 200-260 bucks for them. (400-600 for plat) |

How could they possibly remove the suits though without buying them out? That's a BS excuse anyway - if they're expected to win on the road in hostile buildings, they should be expected to win in front of some suits.
The only other solution might be moving Leaf home games to the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata. |

I'm beginning to think this is just all one big conspiracy orchestrated by the team.
Nobody's talking about the wildly inconsistent efforts of the past four games.
We are all talking about some stupid stick waiving ceremony that nobody gives a flying Frycer about. |

you dont sell them the season tickets
you let real fans buy season tickets (there is a huge waiting list)
if they dont, then scalpers can buy and sell them to fans.
the avg place of residence in TO is what? 600K for a condo? i think they can afford to do it with that population and the surrounding GTA |

I get a pair of tickets in the lower bowl thrown my way from time to time. It's sad that the people around you look at you like you have two heads when you make noise.
