*waits for 'stewey' post where he talks about a player similar to Gallagher who did all the same things he does, but how gallagher is actually doing the wrong thing.. descends into story about how gally-like player one time got mad at stewey, was heroically put in his place and humbled by stewey, then they went to lunch and are very good friends to this day and lived happily ever after* - zedniksghost

Eric Engels: Habs Beat Blues After Trading Bourque for Allen - EricEngels
Another excellent move by MB.
Beside freeing cap space for next year and having a better dcore now, he could probably trade them both (Gonchar and Allen) at the trade deadline and get more than what he paid for. Won't happen, but he probably could. |

I thought about this angle as well. Might be trying to get these guys to sign below market in the summer too. But realistically those moves were prob to sign Gally/Chucky and still have some cash left over for next year.
Great game by the Habs. So awesome to finally beat the Blues. |

what should Bergevin do with this?

When asked on City TV, Gallagher says the referee tonight told him that a normal penalty wouldn't be a penalty on him.
wouldn't that mean the refs are biased for him ? |

What player X would do to Parenteau and be penalized for, would not be a penalty if he did it to Gallagher. |

The Habs have more NHL D than almost all teams. If by the end of the year faith is restored in Tinner or beaulieu then they could deal one of these newly acquired guys for prob a 2nd or 3rd pick depending on their play. I think it's a option, but it's also a good option to go into the playoffs with lots of quality vet D too. |
