So what! Umberger plays the PP and gets like 17 min a night. Does not mean he has deserved it.

I think the minutes the coach plays each guy gives a clue into who sits when MDZ gets back.

If the coach goes with his #1 goalie last night, I believe we would have at least got that game to OT. Poor coaching decision IMO. Go with your hot guy. Emery didnt look good against the Habs either.
If Emery is in net against Rags... It would have been a hell of a lot more than 2-0

- 3flyerkids

Nice to see some logic here.

No, Flyers would have won 4-2 because Emery gets WINS!!!
- GOA88

Yeah because it would have been 7-0 nothing with anyone else in net

So, at the game last night, had a nice Coburn basher. His main line was (and I quote), "Coburn is ass!!!" He sometimes switches things up with, "Schenn is ass!" or "Grossmann is ass!" When I commended Coburn for his hit that led to the rush on the first goal, he replied, "He's ass!" Gotta love Flyers fans.

Oh, and if any of you were that guy, you're a (frank)ing retard.

Mason .914 s%

Anyone following the new mess in Toronto, with the players skipping out on the stick salute? Those players should have just left well enough alone.

Are the Flyers the only team that doesn't do the stick salute? Frankly, I'm fine with them not doing it.

What is good Coburn?? About 25 games a season? If only we knew when he was going to be good so we could scratch him the other games.

I think he wants to sit Schenn. I'm not sure if the Flyers want to swallow that pill though.

Truth be told I didn't like Emery's performance against Montreal but I'll also give him a pass because the Habs are the best team in the east and handn't played since his streak ended against Tampa Bay over two weeks prior. As for yesterday, I think the Coach made the right decision. The Rangers Wednesday are a division rival and the are comfortable at home against an out of conference match up. Did I think Emery is great? No! Did I think he was good? I thought he was good enough to do his part, as he had against tough opponents both this season and last season. [/img]

I actually thought he looked better last night. Saw him break up a few rushes and stand guys up at the blue line to force dump ins.

It is very stupid. Should be saved for the last home game of the season.

Emery was average. He isnt to blame for the loss. He always does what he can and you cant honestly expect more than what he brings.

A lot said about Emery and very little said about Mason.

Emery is the back up. He goes long stretches....scratch that...longer stretches than Mason without playing. Must have slipped your mind though.

I think I'm just seriously fed up with the usual faces on the blueline. Flyers have most of their wins when the new faces have led the charge on defense. I dont think thats a mistake. I think the Flyers have overvalued their "D-Core" all along.

Gotta believe the ask is gonna be at least $3.5, and if I was an agent, I'd go for $4, maybe even $4.25-$4.5, if he comes back strong

You down with that?

- AllInForFlyers

I'm thinking as little risk as possible. Something in the neighborhood of $2.5-4M/per, 1-2 year term. I like what I've seen, and it'll really be something if he can sustain this level throughout the balance of the season, but I'm always going to have that nagging doubt that he's only on his best behavior because he's fighting for his career right now.

Give him job security and a big wad of cash, and it could go back to wheeling for porn starlets > hockey.

Actually he's proven to do his job very well for a guy with limited mobility compared to his starter.

He is a (frank)ing back-up and for good reason. Thats what happens. You arent convincing anbody on here that Emery is even equal to Mason.

Mason is the #1 goalie and he has played 11 games while Emery has played 8. The team is struggling, Mason played spectacular the night before, we need a win....to me it's simple... Go with your #1 guy. If Mason had been bad the night before and was playing poorly it would be different. He deserves more games, this team needs all the help it can get and using your #1 goalie on a more regular basis would help

If Coburn can get them a 1st at the deadline, you have to really consider moving him.
- BiggE

That would be a very handsome return for him. Maybe they could juice even more out of somebody, who knows.
