Giroux still is yet to hit full stride IMO. That's scary. He'll need to go on a tear like last season if the Flyers have any chance of making the playoffs.

I think if the Flyers play with the intensity that they played with last night on a regular basis, and clean up some of the mistakes that they're making. Would give the team the best chance of making the playoffs.

It will be an interesting decision. I'm thinking it will be Schultz. No merit to it I just think he's odd man out in berubes eyes

that would be a bad message if you ask me. he has been more than solid.

For some reason I see Giroux scoring 35g 65+ assists this season. He is just getting started right now...

...and quite honestly, a horrible coaching decision. You should be putting out guys who will help you win games. Sitting the most solid Dman this season isn't exactly helping you accomplish that, imo.

I have a question.

I believe we're 17 games in and so far I'd say outside of Voracek and the rest of the top line our goalies have been our best players nightly. I wasn't thrilled with Emery against Montreal Saturday but prior to that, I thought he had the better start of the two goalies. Many would disagree but I feel Emery's performance in thec first Montreal game I feel has been the best outing to this point this season.

So I ask, am I crazy to believe as good as Mason has been, to say he hasn't been hands down leaps and bounds better then Emery. Mason is the better goalie but I wouldn't say there hasn't been no completion here. In fact I'd say they've both had it equally rough because of the guys in front of them.

They have both had it rough. Mason has had the weaker defense overall in almost every game he has played. Make no mistake about it. Mason is leaps and bounds the better goaltender. Just his lateral movement alone makes him better. Emery is a great backup and thats what we need him for.

Penalties too. Comcast kept showing Rinaldo hit and tackle in his first shift and Giroux's aggressiveness that looked like could have been called a hook. The Refs let a lot go early.

I would agree to sit schenn. I just don't think the flyers feel that way. Schultz was brought in to be the 7. Schenn is a young player we traded jvr for. I think the difference bw the two's play on the ice isn't enough for the flyers to bench Luke over Schultz. Bc those other factors definetly play into it

So, at the game last night, had a nice Coburn basher. His main line was (and I quote), "Coburn is ass!!!" He sometimes switches things up with, "Schenn is ass!" or "Grossmann is ass!" When I commended Coburn for his hit that led to the rush on the first goal, he replied, "He's ass!" Gotta love Flyers fans.

Oh, and if any of you were that guy, you're a (frank)ing retard.

- jmatchett383

Well, I am kind of retarded. But not that guy.

Do any of you Phillie's fans remember that $#$% who used to sit behind home plate and yell "Everybody hits, cookoo!"

Man I hated him.

I say sit Coburn. I know it wont happen but I want the pairs as follows.

Del Zotto-Schultz
Streit-Grossmann

See, I could have predicted this response. Everyone always brings up the lateral movement, which is a concern but I don't believe it as big a concern as it's made out to be. I think it's focusing on one weakness to support another player. To be honest, I feel like Mason has had the same defense in front of him as Mason.

Mason is better. I like both guys but Mason hasn't stolen us a game this year yet.

I have watched every single game this season. Emery has gotten more support than Mason and Mason has the betters numbers by far. Also.... that lateral movement you say isnt a big deal....I think Mason stops the 1st and 3rd goal, maybe even the 2nd last night. Thats a pretty big difference.

Could you imagine the score of the Rangers game if Emery was in net??? It wouldve been like 7-0. Easy!

So what! Umberger plays the PP and gets like 17 min a night. Does not mean he has deserved it.

Here we go, I've watched every game this season...Yes, I'm sure we all have.

With said though, there is only one number that matters and that's wins.

I didn't say his lateral movement isn't a big deal. In fact I did say it was a concern.

Schenn would have some trade value. I would hope Hextall is looking around to see what is out there maybe even make a packaged eat which includes Schenn

Wins... C'mon man. Lets use the Rangers game and the Blackhawks game for example. Flyers got shutout and Mason was left to fend for himself all night. I suppose Mason should score goals too so he can get the only stat that matters in evaluating a goaltender. Im done with this converstaion....

If the coach goes with his #1 goalie last night, I believe we would have at least got that game to OT. Poor coaching decision IMO. Go with your hot guy. Emery didnt look good against the Habs either.
If Emery is in net against Rags... It would have been a hell of a lot more than 2-0
