Grossman.. as much as I like the guy's physical presence.. has been getting slower and is getting beat more often. I personally think he peaked the last couple years and is now starting his descent. If they can get rid of him now, so be it.

Coburn... well.. he had a good run. But I just don't see him being that anchor potential he used to display. Stupid decisions, lackadaisical defense and positioning, and he completely lost his offensive threat he had for so many years... Again, if they can get something for him now, I say do it.

- WarriorHockey21

Disagree on Grossmann...watch him from around 6 or 7 minutes left last night, the plays he made to get back..and the one where he flew in behind the net to beat a wild to the puck and clear...I defy anyone to watch that and tell me he's a sloth.

Agree on Coby.

I'd do Read for Burmi straight up, if WPG would take it.
- Tomahawk

So would I.

I said it before but I think at the TDL the Flyers have some peices that they can flip and get some nice assets back.

It was a thing of beauty. He was making those little touch passes in all three zones last night. Really loved Schenn's game last night. Giroux also had a tremendous effort last night.I was sitting in the sixth row and could really see how hard he was working. To me he is a great captain. Leading by example.
- Marc D

That whole fake-an-injury-to-get-Laughton-on-the-team thing was a stroke of genuis by Giroux.

Whats the consensus on the first wild goal? To me I put it on VDV. He should have read umberger following the puck at the top of the umbrella. That's not uncommon for a pker to do that.
- Just5

That was my view, also.

Thank you.

Now let's talk about Umby and VL and all the awesome trades we can make with them.

Then, sportswriters would wring their hands over how the players stripped and if they did so with the proper amount of intensity and vigor. All of the reading of body language during the strip tease would just be awkward.

Also, if other teams did this, you'd have pissing contests over who has the classiest strippers on the team.

But we're talking only part of the game when he's making solid plays. The other part he's slower and gives up some bad positioning. I'm not saying he's a sloth by any means... all I'm saying is that I believe he's peaked and is on his slow decline downwards.

Fair enough. And forwards do develop faster than Dman.

But considering the Flyers very well might have a pick in the 5-10 range, would you rather have:

G - Strome - Couts/Laughton down the middle and an Ehlers (for example, or bigger) wing acquired from the other of Couts/Laughton

G - Couts - Laughton and a LW acquired in draft.

There seems to be a glut of centers this year, and not as much on left side.

I really want Strome if they're picking high.

- TheGreat28

This one.

Zacha, Strome and Crouse are the big, skilled LW's that would go around 4-10. I'm really liking Svechnikov for a pick outside of that range.

But even if they take another pure C, I wouldn't mind it.

Its a shame cause he played well up until that point... Flyers defense is much better with Schenn in lineup. A lot of you dont want to admit it but he makes a difference, especially on the PK
- GOA88

I'll admit it -- sometimes, guys don't look great in many ways, but they are helpful. The PK was a freaking tire fire while he was out, and if they turn it around and he is logging big minute on it, I will get in line to give him credit for it

"But.. but but... you already told me to move into the basement.. Mr Snider said I could... could... could have a spot in the basement, and then he moved me into the parking garage.. and I told him I don't want to be in the parking garage because there's bats and bugs... and if they move me again, I'm gonna burn the building down"

I personally don't want to move any of 5-10-12-14-15-17-24-28-49-93 altho no one is untouchable if the deal is right of course.
- nastyflyergirl

I really liked 49, even though it's hard to show your stuff skating around with two anchors tied to your line.

He was so angry just before the second goal that the ad break was taking so long. He just wanted to take the damned faceoff. That was a sweet goal. I love feisty G.

Laughton was great last night ,lets just hope his minutes are increased and just maybe Chief will give him some 2nd PP minutes instead of the beloved #18

I should probably go back and edit the posts I made saying he would be a good replacement for Laviolette back in the 13-14 offseason.
- Feanor

Ha! Oh, yeah, Feanor -- no way in hell I was letting that post slide without being quoted for emphasis
