Mikkel Boedker. 1 year left at 2.55M and then he's an RFA. Arizona likely won't want to pay him very much. He'd be a great fit with either Sid or Geno. (Probobly Geno because he's a left handed shot) If he can put up good numbers in Arizona, imagine what he could do in Pittsburgh!

This has been my ideal trade target since last year. Plays a similar game to horn and would be perfect in the pens system, especially with dupuis out. If Martin does come off the books, pens could easily resign him between 4-5. The only problem is that they are looking to add goal scorers and not trade them away. If they do trade Yandle and Michalek walks, they may have a little gap in defense and Harrington could be the key piece. Harrington, 1st, plus?

I know Boedker has been floating through all 3 lines and has played a lot on the 3rd line. Not sure if they did that because he wasn't producing or to balance their lines

dont fix stuff that aint broke.

leave sutter and bennet together. put horny back with sid and kuni.

ask malkin who he wants as a winger and go and get em if we can. everyone seems to need defense which last time i checked we have plenty of

and by the way, i like MAF's teeth. it makes him look like a cartoon character.

You have Crosby and Kunitz playing together, also with a guy who once scored 24 goals and looked alright this season. Malkin gets our best winger like always so at least hes a little happy. Our third line is playing great and 2 good penalty killers on our 4th line which is also playing good. Adams 305 or somthing and counting. The team is 13 and 3. Everyone just wants changes for the sake of changes.

- Grinder47

No, I don't want change for change sake. I like your choices only I would switch Hornqvist with Comeau. Horny is better with Sid and Comeau had some chemistry with Malkin. Just though Goc could use someone who can score, he is probably getting bored.

Long term I wouldn't be disappointed to see Dupuis either retire after this or stay on LTIR

With Spaling, Sundqvist, Comeau(resign), Downie (Resign) we have plenty of capable 3rd line wingers and I'd like to see the 3.75 million reinvested into bonafide Top 6 Wingers, either via trade or free agency for next season

Kapanen Crosby Hornqvist
Kunitz Malkin FREE AGENT/TRADE
Spaling Sutter Bennett
Downie Goc Comeau
Sundqvist

I don't see where Dupuis @ 3.75 million fits in anymore, That bottom 6 is pretty interchangable as well. I'd rather invest the 3.75 Dupuis salary into the FREE AGENT or TRADE target. Either that or use the money to resign Ehrhoff and make one of our young Dmen expendable in a trade for a young ELC winger

Is this a Joke? It better be. Kunitz > Neal.

I don't know if anyone else will care to do this but I just saw meesh from pens nation tweet about voting as much as he can for dupuis to be on the all star game. I usually don't care for this kind of thing but Dupuis is one of my favorites and I know how much he means to this team on the ice and in the locker room. who knows if it would even work but if anyone else finds themselves with little to do while at work or home please join in, especially because we do not know how this will affect his career. Idk it'd just be nice to see if others catch on and notice a lot of fans are voting for him.

Jordan Eberle now out there!!!

How much of this is random media people throwing names against a wall compared to informed "real" ideas passed amongst GM's?

Eberle would cost a lot!

Did someone seriously say Bortuzzo brings more speed than Despres? What team have you been watching? Have you seen the two pass either?

this is a shame. Rossi wrote a good article on what dupuis means to the team today. (its a little ove rthe top but still essentially good). pens can afford dupius for the long term. erhoff and martin are both expendable after this season... one or the other would be a luxury. with kap and/or BB taking a top 6 spot, pens could get another top 6 guy and keep duper around as a top 9. kap-elc, bb-elc?- 1-2 d-men-elc. sundquist-elc. shero's plans coming into fruition. duper could play top 6 if he still clicks and kap/bb could flank sutter. or duper will slow down as he someday may and he could be third with them.

Eberle = Maatta

Eberle = Harrington, Kapanen, 1st

Eberle = Pouliot, 1st

At those prices, no thanks

the last rwo would be negotiable in my mind. they would have to take scuds back for a third as well...

how bout despres, kapanen, 1st, scuds, for eberle and a 3rd?

Scuds won't waive his no trade for Edmonton

Realistically, Scuds would probably have to stay within the Pittsburgh area, Philly, NYI, NJ, NYR, Columbus, possibly a return to L.A.

I read something about family and all that BS....

no doubt some want changes for changes sake. dupers injury will eventually have to be addressed, but no rush yet. thing is though, pens are gonna have to move a d-asset this season or risk having trouble with them next off season due to things like waivers, FA etc.

damn the reality of that... pens would have to move salary somehow. eberle would be worth moving a likely late 1st, an unproven prospect (kap) and a d-prospect that the pens have a plethora of.

for a legit established top 6 player. pens can afford it with at least three to 4 players on ELC's next year.

Yep, I don't think the FO is going to play desperate and hurry up to make a trade. That's how bad-value trades happen.

They'll play it out for a while, keep the feelers out. By deadline time or a couple weeks before, they should have some targets available.

I would say that as far as non-roster players, Pouliot, Kapanen, and their 1st should be off the table. Unless it's someone who has no business being available (Pacioretty, for instance - I'd trade Pouliot, Kapanen, and the 1st for him because he's young, has tons of term on a bargain contract, and I think he and Malkin would be sick together), they're just not going to get value back that equals the potential of those assets, especially considering that those assets could become key pieces on the cheap over the next few seasons.
