Our best player last night was not even in the line up tonight.
Mason is our #1 goalie there is no reason why he can't play back to back games as this team has had long gaps this year.
He may have made a difference. Why not roll with him as he was spectacular the night before

They're going to play better. Lots of hockey left. They have a lineup capable of making the playoffs.
- MJL

yeah, I suppose they could squeak in with this lineup ... but they won't go far with a D like they have.

the atrocious D and the inconsistent effort would doom them to an early exit.

as far as i am concerned the only 2 players that should be untouchable right now of our main roster is Giroux and Jake the rest should be worried and get ready to pack their bags
- flyer186

who the hell would want them?

I read the 1st line and thought you were talking about Lindros.

yep a fine spectator on the losing goal just standing there like a pylon him and Read 2 pylons to skate around
- flyer186

Oh you're nuts. It wasn't a Schenn and Read fail. It was a MacDonald first and then Read fail if anything.

They were in control of the puck and than in a blink of an eye our advantage was gone because of a brain fart by MacDonald. Believe me, I hear you but MacDonald forced the blunder.
- SuperSchennBros

Absolutely, he turned the puck over. But when that happens, cover the man around the net.

He's going to be a solid 2-3LW for a long time, I think

Fair enough...I'm still shocked though. You can't even write what just happened.

Biggest thing is they have to find a consistency in effort. They need to bring the physical play, skating, and intensity they played with tonight, consistently. Second they need to clean up defensive zone coverage issues. Third, get back to the discipline they had earlier in the season. Too many penalties tonight. And get the PK better.

I think they can make the playoffs. Anything after that is gravy.

Tonight would have been a win with Mason tonight. Emery wasn't bad but he looked like a backup.

I hear you, but the math on b2b is just not kind...Emery didn't cost them that point, I feel. Jmo

it was a complete defensive fail from McDonald making a mistake to Read standing there to Luke standing there its read and Schenns job to pick up the player coming in not to be memorized by the puck... the fact is the whole defense is terrible and with the exceptions of a few forwards the back check is horrible team defense is almost no existent most nights and leads to the Flyers scrambling around like a bunch of monkeys screwing a football in their own zone so many scrambles this year with no one looking like they no what they are doing when the other team has the puck not even Kimmo could help these guys right now

Emery wasn't that good. Not why they lost, but he wasn't that great. Looked especially slow laterally.

One of the more noticible differences tonight was the physical play. They were up on their skates and really looking to punish the defenders in the corner. I think that's a key for this Flyers team, they seem to play well when they are looking to make hits. They just need to dance that line to stay out of the box.

Really liked Laughton's game tonight. The kid is a player.

It was a real treat to see Big E and Johnny and Rico and Renberg.

The final goal sucked but a much better effort then last night.

Frustrating -- I agree in that I do think they make the playoffs, but it isn't exactly clear to me how they will do it when they drop points like they did Friday, yesterday and today

Gotta get into a groove on the PK...that will help

And they were strong on the puck on the forecheck. Brayden Schenn had a great game. He won so many puck battles tonight, and puck retrievals. Made a great pass to Giroux for the tying goal. It's a shame that effort by him and some other players were wasted because of simple fundamental errors that cost them the game.

I thought Laughton was fantastic. Completely different from last night. But that wasn't an easy situation for the kid. I thought the same thing watching him tonight. Man this kid is going to be good.

Dude, your just adding Schenn to the mix. What about the other two players your not naming who were on the ice? You are looking for a reason to blame Schenn. The goal wasn't even on Schenn's side.

He seemed to energize VLC too.
I thought that line was pretty good at times.

He barely moved on that last goal as the puck slid right in front of him. Makes Read's non-coverage stand out even more.

Just watched the replay to verify what I saw. MacDonald turned it over, but Zucker was Luke Schenn's man. He had him, got caught watching the puck, and Zucker went to the net uncovered. It was man to man coverage there, and Zucker was Luke Schenn's man.
