I have no info but I wouldn't be surprised to find that Hexy has had a little more than a bit of influence on RJ's usage so far. The trade is already looking bad, I'm sure Hexy wants to see RJ play out of it rather than being benched or demoted, which could be seen as admitting he sucks (and thus admitting the deal was a FAIL).

Berube knows that he has low job security and that Hextall would be the one making a change if needed. I could see him being quite receptive to what Hextall "suggests".

Umberger trade was a long term salary dump. Others disagree, but IMO Hartnell would've been a problem playing on the 3rd line.

Agreed. Hexy is desperate to see of there is anything at all left to be squeezed from vinny and corpse. Sadly, with each passing game it appears they are finished as players in this league. They will at some point have to eradicate them from the lineup through waivers or a benching, and use buyouts this summer
