The Leafs are 4 (frank)ing points out of a playoff spot.

Christ, watching these fans act like children, you'd think they haven't won a game all year.

I think Carlyle is gone by the end of the week. Gardiner/Phaneuf traded and maybe Lupul if he is healthy. Get some changes, and try to spark something before it is too late.

Phaneuf isnt going to be an easy move hahah

It's not the NFL, wallaby man.

Ummmm that would be Standing position.... However that would be a truly entertaining game to watch, Arturs Irbe in goal for the Sabres who would be in goal for the Leafs ?

That's his point above, the Sabres got blasted for "tanking on purpose" when we got blown out. We were told by the media to "lose with honor"

The way Toronto fans act towards the Leafs reminds me a lot of how we act towards the Bills.

I still think the whole "trading of the captain" thing would resonate in the Center of the Hockey Universe.

Has anyone thrown their Bills jersey on the field?

My mistake then. Although I think a key difference is that on the Sabres, management purposefully did not acquire the players, tools, etc needed to win games

The Leafs tried to ice a winning team but still fail. (And not as consistently as the Sabres)

The most frustrating thing out of all this is that Leafs will finish 9th and get nowhere and the cycle will continue and teams that don't try to ice a competitive roster (even if your players try their hearts out and are competitive), will be rewarded.

The thing is that we have been saying this will happen for ages and yet it never does.

Theoretically, though, the Sabres should be a competitive team. There are more than 5 players who have scored 20+ goals. For whatever reason, they are just not able to put the puck in the net until recently.

Hahahah ive said this forever. They start the season with hope and everyones on board and then they have a small strech during the middle of the season that just kills any playoff hope. Which results in drunken depression

Also the last time they actually made the playoffs they had an epic collapse.. sounds familiar

I am asking honestly, who would come in and coach?

Bylsma?

I don't know mate! I think its well known and documented the Leafs want to go after Babcock in the summer. We don't know if Babcock will want to come to the Leafs though. You can be pretty sure he stays in Detroit.

No coach will want to come to the Leafs for just a few months. People need and want job security.

Most likely they promote from within but as you can see, since no respectable coach would want to come here, that's why the Leafs haven't gotten rid of Carlyle yet.

That was kind of my point. The hope for Babcock in the offseason makes it really difficult to move Carlyle, but logic would state that he should be gone soon. Unfortunately this is the NHL and logic is lost 99% of the time.

I think maybe if they fire Carlyle they promote Horacek to interim-Head Coach and if they can't get Babcock he gets the interim removed.

The manner in which the Leafs have lost is alarming

6-2 Buffalo
9-2 Nashville

Granted they are probably the first 2 lopsided losses this season but still alarming.

Every team plays out of character, for better or worse, at different points throughout this year. The Sabres have scored 10 goals in 2 games. That probably won't happen again this year.

The two franchises are mirror images of eachother.

No championships in the modern era, bad personnel decisions.

Only difference is that Toronto gets national attention, and no one cares about the Bills around the NFL
