So isn't that the perfect climate to trade it?
Everyone values it high enough that someone might give something good away. Good enough to help us now and get out of the McDavid range anyway. - Morris
Well yeah but it's this Oiler inertia. If we trade it for a good player, it's not like I'm sure it will do anything this year. But yeah, to be clear, this is an irrational response for me.
Even if the player we receive gets us nowhere this year it could pay big dividends next year. I get all that and am open to it for sure. |

They need a proven #1. And it isn't a "culture" issue, it's a trust issue. Are you going to be where I expect you to be? Issue.
And a part of THAT problem is so many systems and so many different coaches in such a short time. That's why now isn't the time for ANOTHER coaching change.
Ebs+ gets the Oil Yandle and either Vermette or Hanzal depending on the +, which is a MUCH better fit. - batjester
Eberle: a highly skilled RW that can score goals in bunches. Quick hands and could be very dangerous on the PP. Great back hand. Isn't overly physical but plays very hard. Defensively could develop his game more. (23)
Methot: a true shutdown. Dan Hamhuis type hockey. Defense first. Good agile skater. Active stick. Very smart defender. Won't put up big numbers.Throws hip checks but could use his big frame more. (29)
Zibanejad: A strong agile center. He's got a big shot. Defensively plays hard. Active stick and good board work. Can play both C and wing. Won't put up consistent 1st line points. More of a 2nd line player. (21) my comparisons: Mike Fisher, Ryan Kesler
I think that package would be pretty damn close for Ebs (trade will never happen though and I wouldn't want it to for either team) |

Apparently Eakins said post game that the Oil didn't lose because of turnovers.

Would you still take it if we added Nikitin (1mil withheld)? |

He's bloomer late? Is that his twitter handle? Where are you getting this increase in production from? - Dangles13
Because I he's playing his best hockey right now. I think he'll produce more when he's healthy. Don't know if Sens will retain him though which sucks cuz our left side needs to be stabilized. I don't know man... all this talking has got me tired lol. These are just opinions at the end of the day. Marc Methot is looking for a new deal (5x5) |

Methot in contract year, at best a #2, more likely a #3, and a #2 center. For a legit #1 right wing. Yeah, have to pass.
Once again, the teams really aren't fit trading partners.

Honestly, I don't know a lot about how NN has played so far. I think the trade wouldn't make sense for either team and Mika isn't going anywhere --- how good is Ebs? Why not trade Yaks (maybe to buff for Myers++) |

You do realize that Hamhuis is only 2 years older than Methot right? Methot is a good defenseman but I still think it's a stretch to reach 30 points for him. |

I wouldn't say stretch. He's good offensively...just doesn't have that "finish" you know.... he moves the puck well. but dude, his defensive game is SOLID. I really don't know why I'm even talking about trading him. Probably bcuz I want Sens to do something... and Sens need more scoring. But again -- is Ebs a #1 rw on a contender? |

btw Zibanejad is cold right now. Bad year so far, expected him to have a BIG year....will turn it around but man....disappointed so far
edit: if someone would break down the Dmen for me much appreciated. J.S. know him well...Petry is pretty good right? but how are fayne, Nikitin doing? the rest?
man that's why I was purposing a depth for 1 solid player trade. Even added Methot- a SOLID 2nd pairing Dman...could play 1st line for time being. |

I would have to say yes he would be. He puts up points like crazy but he's lazy which isn't a death warrant for a winger but still not good. |

It would be hard to score while he's on knees looking for Crosby's affection. |
