1. I agree
2. batjester : #1 goalie would be a guy like Lehner. Doubt Sens would be trading him, but if the return was a top 6 forward, its possible
Marc Methot isn't a #1D...again he's pretty much Dan Hamhuis 5 years ago. He's a #2. He's a solid Dman. A lot of what I think Nurse will be.
Teamwork was the third thing? These names I'm giving I honestly believe would change the impact/culture of the team. They have a lot to give and are excellent PK/defensive players (maybe Greening is an exception but I think a change of teams could revive the power forward game he has)
Methot + Zibanejad would land Ebs. That I know for sure - AlfieisKing
I just don't see Methot as a #2.

Methot will be close to 40 next season. Probably 30-40. But his defensive game is solid.
Oh and for those fans (the ones I knew would be here) -- I'm a oilers fan, whether their 30th or 1st. I just wish I got to watch them more so I knew exactly how valuable players were. Methot isn't going anywhere likely but he is in a contract year and Sens are in finical trouble. I hope they resign him (even though I don't want to pay him $5m) but apparently he'll get that and maybe more on the open market.
I honestly believe these are the right players to go to EDM. why do you think I'm here? To "sell" players. Lol. That would make sense if I wanted to fleece a team I didn't cheer for - AlfieisKing
He's going to double his highest points total just because? |

He is a solid Dman. Easily a top 4. Probably a true #3 on a cup winning team but played with Karlsson when he won the norris; we all know how 'well' EK plays D. But yea, offensively not Edler, Jay-Bo, or Phaneuf (other #2s left handed shots) |

The 4th line has been the shut down line. They have been getting the tough assignments and handling them quite well. They are better defensively then Hall, Nuge and Ebs. - abware
Yup sure. We're 28th overall..... you'd think we'd be out there trying to win the game with 9 mins to go.
Vans top line has over 20 points against us in 4 games so I guess any line would have given up that gwg. |

23 points in 75 games last year. I'd expect him to score about 10-12 more. that's about a 50% increase, and yes, I think he'll hit 30+ wherever he is.... 40 I don't think so - AlfieisKing
He averages 17 points a season in his career and he's 29 years old. I'm not saying it's impossible but that is 23 points playing beside the best offensive defensman in the league.
I definitely like Methot but I feel like selling him as a #2 is a stretch. |

I'm actually scared to trade the 1st overall. Not because I want the new shiny object, it's just a fear of this team fukking up once again.
I can only imagine what it's like in the dressing room or the offices. - Salvo
So isn't that the perfect climate to trade it?
Everyone values it high enough that someone might give something good away. Good enough to help us now and get out of the McDavid range anyway. |

They need a proven #1. And it isn't a "culture" issue, it's a trust issue. Are you going to be where I expect you to be? Issue.
And a part of THAT problem is so many systems and so many different coaches in such a short time. That's why now isn't the time for ANOTHER coaching change.
Ebs+ gets the Oil Yandle and either Vermette or Hanzal depending on the +, which is a MUCH better fit. |

Without looking, can anyone even tell name me 5 of the top prospects beyond McDavid, Eichel and Hannafin?
If not, stands to reason that all we'll need to do is finish 27th or higher if we were to make a trade with the pick.

His career average doesn't really mean much going forward. He's bloomer late (pretty sure most D-men are right?).
My mistake the first time -- meant he will be closeR to 40. Unlikely to hit 40, more like 30-35. But he can definitely pay as a #2 (with a guy like Karlsson). Again, Dan Hamhuis.
If you want a #2 who puts up 40 points and plays 24min+....then we need to call Nashville and get Josie .... how far is Nurse from coming? |

Big center Dylan Strome, that Kylington defensman and centers Marner and Barzal are the 4 other guys I know off the top of my head. |

Zacha, Strome, Kylington, Roy, and Pilon are all up there. Draude has looked solid as have Rantannen (unsure of spelling) and Korsotelev. Then there's a Swiss guy and a Russian guy in the Q that have lit it up.
Forgot about Barzal and Marner (among others). |

Actually, on a team with a better d-core, he'd be a really good complimentary player. Oil just need him to do too much right now. |
