First name that comes to mind if Chris Neil --- He still leads the team in hits. And chips in the odd goal. IF the Sens could afford to lose leadership he could be traded -- don't expect him to be (family is here, he's a staple here, LEADER) but a lot of Sens fans are talking about sitting him and playing Condra (the teams best defensive forward).

Condra + Greening could REALLY provide good value to a team like EDM. Condra skates well and again -- defensively is so good. Why trade a guy like that? His offensive side is simply not there. He generates chances but he is nothing close to a finisher. Great PK guy but not going to score much at all. Could compliment offensive players at times. Greening -- his contract is the big problem. Also again a victum to numbers game. Sens have tons of prospects and players that can play 2nd/3rd line. He could be acquired for little. He's fast, hits, but lost his confidence and isn't getting to play alot in Ottawa.

Zack Smith -- this is the guy oilers fans would love. He gets in the face of other players. Defensively could be a shutdown C. Good faceoffs. Good skater. Hits. Doesn't fight a lot -- more of a pest. But could drop the gloves against middle weights for sure. Again, sens have 2 many guys like this (although I never liked him --i don't like pests personally --- I don't get why fans want to trade him)

These 3 --Greening - Smith - Condra -- would be a SOLID 4th line. Fast, two-way without a doubt, and playoff experience + success). Adding a Dman like Methot would really help the oilers and would be close to that range. Again this is all fantasy talk, but since I want both teams to exceed, I've tried to be as honest as possible

We've already got a great 4th line and none of those guys really address our needs. Two-way 2C, top-2 Dmen, and a possible goalie upgrade (although I'm not convinced it isn't just the goaltending coaches).

1) Marc Methot (won't put up ALOT of points, but a good amount)
2) hmm... Legwand is not that good. Could fall into that 3C for sure. But no. Mika Zibanejad will be a GREAT 2/3 but that's going to cost (21 yrs old)
3) Robin Lehner... but again price would probably be high. Anderson is our MVP so doubt he gets traded.

*As a oilers fan I'd dangle Perron more so than Ebs to Ottawa. What's his price folks?

Yeah, we are only 3rd last in points in the NHL and last in the whole western conference in goal differential and 2nd last in the NHL in goals allowed.

But we're close.

Methot has only put up 20+ points in his career once. We need someone who is netting 40+.

Can someone explain to me why the Leafs and the Oilers have sold out arenas when their teams are absolute shyt? The Blackhawks and the Penguins both had half empty buildings when their teams were going through this kind of drought. You can blog and scream at ownership all you want, but as long as you keep giving them your money there won't be any sense of urgency for them to do something.

The 4th line has been the shut down line. They have been getting the tough assignments and handling them quite well. They are better defensively then Hall, Nuge and Ebs.

None of those players come close to landing you Eberle.... not even all of those players for Eberle.

Marc Methot isn't a #1D...again he's pretty much Dan Hamhuis 5 years ago. He's a #2. He's a solid Dman. A lot of what I think Nurse will be.

Teamwork was the third thing? These names I'm giving I honestly believe would change the impact/culture of the team. They have a lot to give and are excellent PK/defensive players (maybe Greening is an exception but I think a change of teams could revive the power forward game he has)

Methot will be close to 40 next season. Probably 30-40. But his defensive game is solid.

Oh and for those fans (the ones I knew would be here) -- I'm a oilers fan, whether their 30th or 1st. I just wish I got to watch them more so I knew exactly how valuable players were. Methot isn't going anywhere likely but he is in a contract year and Sens are in finical trouble. I hope they resign him (even though I don't want to pay him $5m) but apparently he'll get that and maybe more on the open market.

I honestly believe these are the right players to go to EDM. why do you think I'm here? To "sell" players. Lol. That would make sense if I wanted to fleece a team I didn't cheer for
