That is something that I totally agree with Burke on. I guess since he is out of Toronto he can start saying stuff like this more often.

Oh no its full credit... I was in denial for the last couple years and would not submit- even when I sat behind the Oiler bench- and bared withness to a BOA 8-1 drubbing- I would not yield to the flames fans beside me... However this season and where we are right now- its (frank)ing embarrassing- I am tired of this poop and after the Flames won by shutout- and near the top of the west- they are a team that works and are getting results- they have a better built team even tho we have been the team rebuilding for 8 (frank)ing years... In the end- we cant win and are expected to... They are not really expected to win yet finish every season ahead of us in the standings... I give them full credit in my moment right now of weakness as an Oiler fan...

They are better than the Oilers, I'll admit that, and they certainly play much harder that the oilers and that's what's putting them (far) over the top...

..but it's fairly easy for the most part to play harder than the oilers. The Oilers have a low compete level. Not a normal standard the flames are soaring over.

Also, this has nothing to do with Corsi. If the Oilers were a top possession team and the Flames a bottom one, you'd have a point, but the Oilers are smack dab in the middle. Wins are wins, and the teams who get them are generally those who possess the puck more I.E. the teams that are above the Flames in the standings who by advanced metrics and the eye test are better than them. If by the end of the season the Flames are ahead of all of Chicago, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Boston and St Louis while still posting poor possession numbers, I'll reconsider my position.
