It's gonna be awesome when Laviolette wins the Jack Adams, and Berube is on the bread line.

The Coburn play is bad to be sure but Mason has to move a little faster on that or make the play on the puck behind the net. I think Mason might have been trying to get into an altercation with Glass but instead got hit by Coburn.
- Pixote Andolini

If Mason is trying to keep the play going, yeah, he's gotta make room for the next intended puck carrier.

I cannot watch #18 for two more years, and #40 for whatever he has left

Just cannot see them finishing those contracts

- Marc D

there was one play early in the 2nd where 18 was in the defensive slot, the puck landed right in front of him, and a ranger player swooped in and took it before he barely moved. i've seen enough.

berube isn't doing much for this season, but tonight's game is not on him. this looks like a team that doesn't even know each other. zero compete. zero execution.

voracek and mason are the only one's who've shown up.

Oh yeah, let's talk about all the people who loved Lavi his last couple of years here.

Either way, when 90% of your lineup decides to mail it in, well, thats usually a coach killer

Its not all on Berube, but he's doing nada to help the situation either

And like that, the 4th line gained a new title.

Well if they aren't competing that is a coaching issue isn't it?

there's been a bunch of plays tonight where the Flyers look like they're moving in slow motion, and a Ranger swoops in and takes the puck.

deja vu all over again.

See, for me this has a whole hell of a lot to do with the coaching staff.
- hereticpride

i'm sure the staff is preparing them, and doing all of the things they should be doing. line combos and usage are one thing, but the team went into flaccid mode the second the rangers scored the first goal, which was only 6 minutes in and have not recovered since. that is on the players.

Hard to knock Voracek because of how good he has been all year. But he hasn't shown up tonight either.
- MJL

Agreed but Voracek should also have two goals if he was more of a shooter. Two glorious shooting opportunities blown in the first on the PP.

With what's going on out on the ice tonight, there isn't a coach in the world who could change anything from behind the bench in this game. Zero heart and compete being shown out there. Absolutely zero emotion.

the players have to play. at some point the onus really is on them, i don't care who is behind the bench. i don't know what the reason is.

you can still have a mediocre team that competes hard and executes even at a 50% clip. they're nowhere near that.

The root of it remains the piss poor execution. A bad pass leads to a turnover, leads to running around your zone, wasting energy. Then when you finally get the puck it's dumped in for a change and the cycle repeats.

It's tiring and frustrating and leads to teams getting outplayed.

I said that after the first. Some bad decision making in that period by Voracek. Btu this isn't about one player. It's about every player but Mason. And Emery gets a pass. Doing a fine job with the bench door.

He's tied with Crosby for the scoring lead.

they are not skating. that's problem #1. execution is hard to do when you're not skating.
