hawks are a great team, looking forward to playing you guys. should be a couple of highly entertaining games. Leddy has been awesome and has impressed me so far, he's way better than I expected. way way better.
- Isles_since_6

For all the knocks about his defensive game hes been one of our most steady defensemen in our end. Guy has been awesome.

That was quite the beating you guys took yesterday. How long do you think before Carlyle gets canned and who do you think his replacement is?
- Cptmjl

I am hoping for 8 minutes.. 7:59

As for the replacement.

Tampa is just a really good team. A lot of people, myself included forget that Tampa is no longer the crummy team of years past. They're a top team now.
- kindlyrick

Agreed. Tampa, Montreal and Boston are going to finish in the top three of the Atlantic division. You can etch that in stone. What order? Anyone's guess. But those three will be at the top. That's what makes a game like last night so solid. Yes, TB was coming off a game the night before and was playing its third in four nights. But the Isles took it to them, carried play for the most part and won convincingly. That's what good teams in that position are supposed to do.

JT is just not inspired or engaged or something. Very lazy with the puck other than one rush. Puck finding Nabby big time..... seen this show with him, need to get an early one or he will keep getting stronger all game. Boys just don't seem focused.... need to kill penalty or game may be over.
- Nolanders

I don't think JT is completely recovered from the knee injury suffered at the olympics. There's something not right. It may just be that the injury took more out of him than anyone knows. Really its his goal scoring that has dropped off, not much else. Truth is, when he gets his groove back, he'll score a lot more. I'm more worried about JT's defensive game than anything else. That's never been a strong point for him (when I say "worried", I mean I'd like to see him improve in that area, but we all know what he is here to do).

And they'll be likely at the top of the Metro division. I don't see the Isles or anyone else finishing first in the Metro. The Isles need to try to stay at #2 or #3 in the Metro and get into the dance. From there, anything can happen. This team is good enough to make some noise in the playoffs.

They have to find something to complain about. Can't kill cappy for last night because his line juggling finally paid off. They have to latch onto something otherwise they won't know what to do with themselves.

We're 6-2 in NOVEMBER, just beat one of the best teams in the league and the ledge is still shoulder-to-shoulder packed.

I think most aren't complaining. I for one am not just saying he doesn't look like his normal dominant self and he is good for a couple more defensive gaffs then normal. He looks a little off at times.

Capuano was actually matching lines which he has been doing more often than not while we are winning. Not having the 4th line out against the opposing teams first lines or after we score or vice versa. I doubt anyone will complain if he makes sensible coaching decisions.

That's one thing but I was reading through some of the stuff a few pages back and some of the thing being posted.......oof. He does look a little off but there is less than zero doubt in my mind that he will be back to normal.

Here's a question to hopefully end this nonsense: would you rather have the "off" JT and be in the position we're in now or would you rather have the "on" JT and have 15 points and be in 6th or 7th place?

I doubt there is one person on here that doesn't agree with that sentiment. How about that Strome yesterday?Hitting, getting dirty in the corners. He has so much more to his game then I was aware when we drafted him. I thought he'd be a great fwd but had no concept of his all around game.

JT off is still more than a point per game player and he'll still be top five in scoring by the end of the season IMO. With the depth we have now we can make up for "off JT"

He's coming off a major injury. I don't know what many people expected. When the injury first occurred I wondered if he'd even be ready by October.

The guy has been drawing penalties left-and-right, even though he's "only" averaging a point a night. We're winning 2-out-of-every-3 games with an "off" Tavares. How can anyone see a problem with this?

He's going to need to time to rebuild the explosiveness of his knee, pre-injury, and the fact you have guys like Nelson, Strome, Grabovski, Nielsen, etc. picking up the slack is even BETTER than being the "one-line team" we so often bemoaned around here the last few years.

Yep, I thought he was just going to be a typical slippery perimeter playmaker. He's instead been a pretty complete player so far.

I'd like to see how many people can take a structural injury to 2 parts of the knee and "only" average a point a game within 6 months. Not many, I'd reckon.

He's going to lose a small step...good thing for him he was many steps ahead of the majority of NHLers that it won't mean all that much.
