Just got back from game nice win a few thoughts. Grabovski is a very good player great forechecker always on the puck and forces turnovers. He does not see the ice enough in my opinion. DeHaan is becoming the Islanders best defenseman. He is always in position makes great decisions with the puck and is a great skater. He's the guy I want on the opposing teams top line. A pleasure to watch. On the negative JT Okposo and Hickey looked pretty bad tonight. Lots of giveaways and bad puck decisions. It's great to see the team winning despite the two best players struggling a bit, but hey a win is a win.

Anyone else just see Leddy skate by Stamkos like he was standing still to get that puck in the corner? Guy can skate like the wind.
- UIF

I think leddy skating backwards is faster than 60% of NHL players skating forward. Crazy. He's been so solid defensively as well.

Buffalo leading San Jose 3 - 1 with a little over 4 minutes left. Stashu getting ready to celebrate with some wings and a bottle of Iroquois?

How is it absurd.... he has not been fine. Too many turnovers where he looks weak. I didn't say he sucked..but I feel he is off. The best players can go through funks. JT is in one.
- Nolanders

I think it's absurd because it doesn't matter. We'll say all these things...maybe he's hurt, maybe it's the line, maybe it's this; maybe it's that...and it's probably none of that and it will all be about a player who's still putting up a point a game, captaining a team that's not just winning but playing well. And we all know he's going to play even better. I couldn't be less concerned, to be honest.

hehe, thought for sure it was gonna fall apart. San Jose "scored" on a delayed penalty. Then the goal waved off, penalty killed, empty netter scored, 4-1 final.

Yeah. Early on my only concern with him involved a few adventurous first passes out of the zone. But even that doesn't seem to be happening lately...probably just needed some time to figure out people's tendencies. And his skating is insane.

I look at it like a positive. Playing well near the top in goals scored and JT has just been ok. Just wait until he starts going off!

Hopefully it's this weekend! Win both and we pass the pens (unlikely, but would be fantastic)

I think it'll balance out. Just when we all start arguing about, say, Nelson cooling down, Tavares will go into overdrive mode for a long stretch.

He does. Hes only at a ppg and leading the team. Hes needs to be better than that. Give him some time in the bridge and bring him up around march.

Good game tonight- played solid against a team that had played 3 in 4, with their backup and our starter in nets....the difference this year is that the Isles win these games, instead of struggling in them. Skated well, and shut it down for the last 10 minutes, like a team that knows what it needs to do to win . Typical Nabby game....played pretty well, except for that first goal, which just completely deflated his team (imagine that ). He also flashed that lightning quick glove hand upstairs on the Cizikas goal...it was like watching a rusted robot try to lift his arm over his head.

Saw it hundreds of times in Chicago. I've seen roughly 75% of the games since 1969 and a bunch before that. Nobody blows through the neutral zone with the puck like Leddy. Not nobody, not ever. I miss watching him. Others will tell you he was a luxury and was too expensive for his role in Chicago and there's no denying that. But boy was he ever fun to watch. His stride is textbook. I wish him well. And I look forward to seeing the NYI in the playoffs. Hang tough.

hawks are a great team, looking forward to playing you guys. should be a couple of highly entertaining games. Leddy has been awesome and has impressed me so far, he's way better than I expected. way way better.

what really does not help is that our powerplay is slow and predictable sending everything to the points. Where are the feeds down low and then quickly to the middle between the dots? And who is this guy wearing 91 and what has he done with JT. His game is completely lost right now. The worst he has consistently looked since his start in the league. I hope he finds his game and soon!
- islesrbettr

I think he simply isn't used to buckling down and playing defense like they have been for the past three weeks. When your defensive game takes work, because you're not used to being asked to do some of the things that this team is collectively doing at a level head and shoulders above last year, it's an adjustment. I think once he sorts that out, he'll be back to not pressing so much at the offensive end of the ice.....and he'll be a far better player for it...

That was quite the beating you guys took yesterday. How long do you think before Carlyle gets canned and who do you think his replacement is?
