The experts have spoken! There are 8 NHL coaches worse than Cappy.

Disclaimer: The panel of "experts" include a couple of dozen writers and broadcasters including Katie Strang and Barry Melrose.

I saw that and wondered about it. Was he doing a better job last season when the team was out of the playoff race by December 1st?

How does Roy move UP this season after that team has started so badly? Is this just a 1-time poll during the season? If so I can understand, but if it's like a power ranking that changes over the season, that's just turrible.

EDIT: NM, I see they mention the panel predicted how the coaches would do this season, so I assume it's a one-off

I think most aren't complaining. I for one am not just saying he doesn't look like his normal dominant self and he is good for a couple more defensive gaffs then normal. He looks a little off at times.

Yeah but I guess we can't say we are concerned about our boy without others twisting our point. He isn't himself, could be the leg, focus , linemates yadda yadda....end of the day all that was said is he isn't himself...not trying to find someone new to gripe about just to gripe either. Pretty bad a few of us make a comment noting our best player is off , turning the puck over and not his usual sharp self and you get mocked or ridiculed for it...yes we are all on the ledge and are now burning our JT sweaters ..frig guys lighten up. If in a month or so he sits out due to an nagging injury the same clowns that are jumping all over us wil say ''I knew something wasn't right with our Captain..'' ... unreal but whatever makes you all feel better...

It's confusing. It would be useful to know, e.g., when exactly the panel voted. Pre-season? After a few weeks of hockey?

BTW, are you surviving the snow?

Yes, since I live in South Carolina and it has only snowed about 3 or 4 times since I moved here over 10 years ago.

But thanks for the thought. I still have family in Buffalo, but they're north of the city where there has barely been any snow

Where do I sign up?!

Orchard Park is right in the snow belt. The snow falls in buckets. Great for cross country skiing.

I saw the SC in your address, but thought that stood for Second City.

Reading those stories reminds me of the Blizzard of '77 when I was living there.

I currently live in Alden, NY, so I know just how much snow fell in such little time, it was crazy. Family is wellstocked on food and water thankfully, but 2 days on a driving ban so far and the most exposure we have had was removing nearly 4 feet of snow down the long driveway (and on top of my car!) is giving us cabin fever!

Not all bad though, I am getting paid to stay at home with the family, read, and watch hockey!

I wish all Metro teams would work on upgrading their defense like that.
