51 goals and -35 rating: doesn't that mean he was on the ice for at least 86 goals against - certainly a lot more - more than 1 per game?

Or is my logic wrong?

EDIT: No - just realized his 24 PO goals don't count as pluses - but still....

OV floats and is more concerned with scoring than winning....Unfortunately, these days players are set for life and the HC can be easily changed.

Can't realize how bad OV cheats and doesn't play defense unless you watch him live.

The area behind his own blueline is a playground Ovi has never been introduced to. His game is drifting thru the neutral zone and then turning it up big time in the O zone.

He is just a pure goal scorer who is slowly fading from significance from the days the NHL promoted him and Crosby to sell the game in the USA. Good luck to Barry Trotz coaching him for the next few years.

And that Hart Trophy he won 2 years ago was a complete joke.

OV set the record for the worst +- figure for a leading scoring. He is a coach killer and won't ever play here while Q and or the Bowman's are in the mix.

have friends in DC who go to about half the home games....a selfish and disengaged is how they describe his play...he will take runs at guys once in awhile but he has no interest in defensive or TEAM play...

Kane has the best hands in the NHL and being the best perimeter player isn't anything to scoff at. When the going gets tough he scores insides otherwise the Hawks wouldn't have won 2 Cups.

"hits like a Mac truck" is not exactly a stat.

Notice you don't show the +/- for years after 2011 - such as his -35 last year, and his -5 already this year (on pace for -23).

Notice you don't show that he was on the ice - even strength - for 80 goals against last year in 78 games - over 1 per game - in only about 15 minutes of EV ice time per game. And this year - 18 GA in 18 games - again, 1 per game.

And that he his teams have never gotten out of the second round.

Great goal scorer, but not including that he's a defensive liability defies the stats and his play.

If Calgary wins and Vancouver beats the Ducks Flames would be tied for first in the WC.
