Yes, let's send our 4th leading scorer to hartford.
- nyrangers9479

Sorry, bench him, either way he needs a wake up call and a fire lit under him, he was supposed to breakout along with Zucc and so far they look like leaky bags of poop

Callahan is more consistent than Stamkos. Plus the team is 11-0 when he scores. You know what your gonna get out of Callahan game in and out. Sometimes Stamkos is invisible out there
- DrouinsDrone

Did you really just write this, give me a break, Stamkos spoon fed him both goals, if he was wearing a blue sweater last night he wouldn't have scored 1

Callahan in all his consistency is an average NHL player. Stamkos, inconsistent and all, is as elite as you can get in this league.

Give me a player that puts out inconsistent game by game effort, yet still manages to lead the league in goals scored every year, over a player that brings it, night in and night out, and tops out at 50+ points.

Nobody's defending this team big guy but you are smarter than to say demote Kreider to the minors. I am all for benching slumping players though; sometimes it helps in the long run.

OK OK so I took him from the press box to the minors, no big deal, point is still the same, he's been a major disappointment so far and he's not the only guilty party

Not just here but Tampa fans have shot up the a-hole chart pretty quickly, MSL may not even get in the arena next week, they might drag him off the plane and hang him in effigy, some of the comments and delusions about his behavior and why he left and what he owes Tampa is sickening

I will cut him some slack, maybe what he meant was Cally helped stabilize the line to make it more consistent. Because I don't think anyone with a clear head would think Cally is more consistent then Stamkos.

So no Hank and possibly no Giroux tomorrow night. Think NBCSN is still happy it picked this for its rivalry night game

I think he meant that cally brings it every single night no matter what. Stammer is kinda like nash where he will tear it up for a stretch then go scoreless and not make a noticeable impact for a stretch.

I guess, but I have watched a decent amount of Tampa games, and he might not score all the time, but Stamkos is certainly noticeable almost every game. One of the few players I would give up just about anything for.

You're right and I'm sure if it were Rod Gilbert, Andy Bathgate, Ed Giacomin, Brian Leetch or some other great Rangers you would totally understand and give them a ticker tape parade on the way out of town, after dissing the town they played in for so many years. But I guess that would make you an A hole.

Actually I was fully expecting Callahan who priced himself out of town, put his salary demands above the team to leave for a Buffalo and despite it all I never criticized his character, Tampa fans tell a role of MSL stomping his feet snd pouting but that's so live seen since March and when Messier left us he wasn't treated this way, he came back eventually and it was no big deal, be happy he brought you a Cup and stop whining

Got a question.

Do you like the makeup of your team now better than when MSL asked for a trade?

If the answer is yes, why wouldn't you look back and say yeah, maybe I don't like the way he demanded a trade but when its all said and done he brought a cup to Tampa played his ass off for us for about 13 years and by leaving actually helped the team get even better.

This makes absolutely no sense. With the Sabres on the docket, after the Flyers game, the time was right to put Talbot in then.

Oh well, I have zero confidence in Talbot, think this could get ugly tomorrow with or without Giroux.

We know what he meant and it still is insane to read.

Callahan giving his all is terrific; the guy is nothing more than a glorified third line player playing with an all world center in Stamkos. His stats will look great as long as he is playing on that line.

Fact is the Lightning have drafted really well over the last five or six years. Dealing an elder statesmen for a younger winger and inevitably two first round draft picks adds to an already pretty well stocked cupboard of offensive talent.

Not that I like giving a newly arrogant fan base any credit but you have to respect how the Lightning organization have gone about their business and kept building from within. Aside from the about six players the Lightning are a homegrown group with some more talent on the way.

It always helps to have a franchise player, the quality of Stamkos, to build around. But bottom line is that they took advantage of the years they were basement dwellers and have made some shrewd deals to shore up weak areas in the organization: goaltending and defense.

The Rangers have never been so bad they were able to draft in the top five in this century. But, I have said it before and I will say it again, how many current top teams have been able to remain competitive without ever drafting in the top five, in any recent draft year?

I disagree. Cally is a top 6 player imo. No doubt stammer will help inflate his stats though.
