Can anyone tell me what the schedule will be for Thursday night?
Will the ceremony to honor Lindros and Leclair start right at 7pm or earlier?
I will be in town Wednesday night and have tickets for Thursday. Don't want to miss a moment of it.

Very excited and also glad to hear G is ok.

I blog about 4 of my all time favorite players: Lindros, LeClair, Giroux and Forsberg! Good stuff, Bill.

On Giroux: I bet he had diarrhea.

- NickTheKid87

I bet Giroux forgot about the STH thing, and had some kind of other commitment he couldn't get out of, so the Flyer concocted a story.

It'll probably start earlier than 7 for TV purposes. I would suggest getting there around 6 at the latest.

What a game to go to Marc. Did you know this game would be the Lindros and Leclair ceremony before you got tickets?

I don't recall saying that. Of course if they could get a legit # 1 dman you would have to consider it.

On a side note. Charles Manson is engaged to a 26 year old woman.

They plan on having a killer wedding.

I was lucky enough to see Peter Forsberg play twice, live as a Philadelphia Flyer. Once in Toronto (the night Richards scored his first 5 on 3 shorthanded goal) and later in the same season in Detroit, when the Flyers were at the top of the east and the Red Wings at the top of the best. I considered us a one line team while Forsberg was here but man was he dominate every night!

At the very first game I've ever seen live back in 2002, it ended in a 1-1 tie. It was sort of an empty feeling but a very thrilling over time. Of course this was during the era of Jeremy Roenick but I'd say the two most hard working players this night in Toronto were Mark Recchi and John LeClair. I had just missed Eric Lindros by a couple years to see play live. John LeClair scored the only goal for the Flyers and the first I'd ever seen live. I scaled these tickets, I was wait in the nosebleeds but I wouldn't change a thing. I'm always just happy to be in the building and I remember that LeClair goal as if I were in the first row.

I did get to see Eric Lindros play though but unfortunately against us as a Toronto Maple Leaf. It was the same game where Richards was able to score on Ed Belfour two men short. Lindros was having another down season but he managed to score against us. I was happy for him. I was thankful to see him at all.

Eric Desjardins took part as the number one defenseman in every game I mentioned. Always quietly impressive.

2 of my favorite players to watch. I am so excited to be going Thursday and I am very happy Peter was elected to the HHOF. I really hope this opens the door for Eric to get in. Their numbers are pretty close. Eric played 760 games and had 865 points (1.14) while Peter played in 708 games and had 885 points (1.25). Granted Peter played in almost 100 more playoff games but that is more of a reflection of the great Colorado teams he played on. Lindros came to a Flyers team that was decimated by the trade not to mention not very good in the first place whereas Peter joined a very good team. I really think Eric should go in. Then have the Flyers retire his jersey since the HOF in the criteria

Vinny isn't even good enough to take hartnells spot on the top 5 vs 4 pp unit. That top pp can't even elevate his play to the point where his shot, his only good quality, is an assert there.

And jake is now going to be responsible for getting vinnys game going 5vs5?

If be willing to try it. Bc really this year is a wash anyway

I'm not slowing down 93 purely on account of 40. If they're breaking up L1, I'd rather they use Voracek w/ Coots to form a line that actually has a chance to be good at ES.

Vinny can't keep up w/ Jake's pace.

No it was just a very happy coincidence. My family is lives in philly and I'm there for a visit as I had 5 days off work. Thursday was the only night I had to go to a game and it turns out to be the night with the ceremony.

Some times these things work out well.

I was also at the last game of the season vs the NYRs in April 2010. For a while it looked like they might not be in the playoff picture and I got a center ice ticket for cheap.

It turned out to be a very important game as the winner advanced to the playoff, loser was out. I was sitting right behind the visitors penalty box. I remember when PA Parenteau (was a Ranger then) took a penalty, the guy next to me was giving him non stop lip. Telling him he'd be back in the minors soon, and making fun of his name being PA, etc. Guy was hilarious and even Parenteau was laughing while sitting in the box.

I think Parenteau scored in the shoot out so he sort of showed the heckler up.

What a great game that was.

Pavel Bure got in and he played less games than Lindros and had a lower points per game average. Bure played 702 games and racked up 779 points (1.11 ppg). There's really no logical argument to be made for Lindros not being in the Hall in terms of on ice play. It's all politics.

I loved the old days at the Spectrum Ovations club, after the game alot of the flyer players would hang out with the fans...the crazy eights would be in there after every game and alot of the players would drink with the fans.

Glad Forsberg apologized. Now if we can only get Kim Johnson to apologize for not winning game 7 against the Bolts...
