Consistently mediocre defense will eventually pull the goaltending down with it, and vice versa. Lehtonen has been letting in more stoppable goals this season than he generally does but the play in front of him leaves a whole lot to be desired.

I think I'm pretty balanced overall. I have biases, like everyone else. I freely admit mine. I'm not a fan of Berube. I'm not convinced in any way, shape or form that Umberger & Lecavalier can rebound and be more than albatrosses at ES.

Despite that, as long as they wear orange and black, I hope they prove me wrong. I rooted for this team no matter who was on it, from Mark Howe to Jason Bowen, from Bobby Clarke to Kimbi Daniels. I don't just blindly trash everything the team does, but if I feel they screwed up...I'm gonna criticize them for it.

I'll offer my opinions and if I'm right, great. If I'm wrong, I've never had an issue admitting it. If I thought differently about Berube or Lecavalier or Umberger, I'd say so. If they prove me wrong, I'll be the first to say so.
