Eskin says Giroux hit in the foot with shot at practice. Hope he went to the same X-ray center Coburn went to.

I thought they all wore skate fenders in practice?

The Flyers will finish the season destined for the 14th overall pick. The Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks will win the draft lottery, picking first, moving the Flyers to 15th overall.

And it might sound crazy, but I would totally put VLC on L1 and I'd strongly consider bringing Laughton up for a quick look

I wouldn't be opposed to this. At least not the first part.

It doesn't really matter, though. We all know that Giroux is totally riding Voracek's coattails so Jake won't miss a beat, and we should expect VL to match or exceed Giroux's production if he were moved there.

BLOG UPDATE

Flyers captain Claude Giroux is day-to-day with a lower-body injury per Flyers general manager Ron Hextall. Speaking to the media via conference call from the NHL general manager meetings in Toronto, Hextall said that Giroux would definitely miss tomorrow night's game against the Rangers and is also more likely than not to be out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Minnesota. Hextall said that Giroux's injury happened at practice yesterday.

The general manager said that the player's condition worsened overnight.

"Here’s what happened," said Hextall. "He was examined last night by a doctor and everything looked good at that time. Between last night and this morning, he wasn’t feeling the same way so he talked to Jimmy [McCrossin, the Flyers trainer] and got further testing and just feels he needs a little time off to get better."

Giroux's streak of 146 consecutive regular season games played will come to an end tomorrow. Hextall reiterated that the club expects his absence from the lineup to be a matter of days, not weeks. Saturday's game against Columbus seems to be a possibility for his return as of now.

If we traded for Jake Muzzin, Jake Gardiner, Jake Allen, and Jake Virtanen, and then sign Jake Hansen...

...I don't know what. But we'd have a full line of Jake's.

No worries. Jones goes back in the lineup, Umberger gets bumped up... Boom goes the dynamite.

That's understandable. But this is the second time this year, that something along this line has happened. They told us Coburn was almost back, then out 4 weeks. Giroux was fine last night, now he's not fine. I really think the Flyers should take a more cautious approach so that they aren't caught in the unpredictable nature of injuries and medical diagnosis.
