those 3 penalties to start the period were brutal

Bolts need to be more disciplined.

I never understood not giving up the puck to get a longer 5 on 3. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

I love that Girardi is putting shots towards the net 5 on 5 but wouldn't on the PP, makes so much sense

Even with the penalties, there is a wicked pace to this game.

Doesn't matter if you can't win a faceoff or enter the zone. At least with that 6 on 4 there they had some pressure and opportunities

Seems the Rangers have a set 5-3 play. They dont move and just pass it around and the defending team can just stay in their triangle and waste no energy. Maybe the coaching will realize sooner or later being 0-356 on the 5-3 is not a good thing.

Full disclosure, the 0-356 is a made up stat.

I think you guys are being overly negative. We've played a decent game so far. PP didn't get a shot but it had good movement.

1st period was bad. imo. This period looks a bit better. Minus the 5-3

I don't think so. 1st period was trash. Not executing well defensively. I'll take the goal, but it was lucky/fluke. But it still counts.

Bishop is so big, even if he didn't move and had no atheletic ability whatsoever, its like parking a dump truck in front of the goal.

Still bet it's damn close to accurate.

Man if only Kreider can get a move that allows him to drive into the slot after he loops behind the net. He seems to do it often due to his speed but gets forced outside.

Was thinking the same thing, he needs to simplify his game and execute

Rangers needed to stay within 1 goal....that one might be a killer in the end

There it is. To bad Nash doesn't get the secondary assist.

To be fair it is Filppula. He started in Detroit and they thrived on that exact play.
