So it is being reported by the beat writers the Rangers will have "something" with Kaberle by today. I hope by something they mean one of those Derek Jeter don't let the front door hit you on the way out gift baskets.

There is no doubt this is a mistake, unless they are hiding something about Mac it makes no sense, either Moore or Hunwick will a very serviceable 7th defensman

They have been so impressed with him in practice, they have decided to trade Staal & sign Kaberle to a multi year deal to fill that spot.

Going back to the game on Saturday, could you imagine if Malkin focused on being physical. Dude is a beast. I don't think I have ever seen Girardi take a hit like that. I do remember Malkin destroying Rosival on the boards once too.

With our luck:
McD's arm literally fell off
Girardi is now Marc Savard
D Boyle's hand was amputated...he's playing with a prosthetic
Staal asked for a trade to Carolina
the market for D is so ridiculous that it has come down to Kaberle or Redden 2.0

As objectively as I can say this: "I literally feel hate for the Pens organization."

I really don't consider this a rivalry driven attitude. I remember being ecstatic when Lemieux bought the Pens and even returned to playing to save them. I remember being happy for them to land Crosby to save them. I remember being eager to see Malkin play his first NHL game because I thought he was the most complete talent I had ever seen. This team should be any hockey fans dream come true.

With all of this talent the real resentment stems from every time I watch them play I'm left with mental highlights of Crosby whining and complaining about things every other star player faces every shift. It's the Malkin slew foots. The years of the Pens suiting up Matt Cooke and letting him willfully injure other players with total disregard for their well being. The incident where Crosby swatted Voracek's glove as he bent down to pick it up and later tried to justify it in an interview. The total team meltdowns into brawls every time they lose in the playoffs.

This is why I hate them. It isn't because I'm bitter. It isn't jealousy. It's the fact that they have so much talent and potential to be good for the game and they refuse to do it. They waste it. I remember watching my first NHL game and being blown away at the skill I saw on display. The Pens have that yet I refuse to let any friend who is a first time hockey fan watch them because the Pens are a bad example of everything that is good about hockey in general. I wanted to love the Pens (even as a lifetime Ranger fan). I tried to love them. I can't because it interferes with my love of hockey and for that I hate them.

Not too worried about it...he's obviously behind McD, G, Staal, Boyle, and Klein on the depth chart and if he stinks it up as our 6th guy AV wont hesitate to rotate Moore and Hunwick in.

Why? You don't think refs don't give the Pens PP's bcs they're scared they will score?

The only thing is, he would take up that 50th roster spot?

We're usually always at the 50 contract limit and its never been an issue outside duclair this year which was kind of a one time situation and we fixed that fairly quickly.

Anton Stralman repeats that he was "disappointed" in way talks went with Rangers went this summer. Says he wanted to stay here.

Will Tampa fans be upset that he's thinking about someone else while sleeping in their bed?

I miss Stralman's "steadiness" on the blue line. Wish he stayed. Gotta hope Calle Anderssen can similar to him in a few years.

So did I, felt that if you subtracted a $1.5 million from somewhere a deal could have been made, I like Boyle but I really liked Stralman

IMO, Kaberle signing is not a bad thing. If we have another Dman go down, McIlrath I have 0 confidence over, Allen has shown some signs he can play minutes but lets say we're in the final 20 games in March and fighting for a spot...a veteran like Kaberle has my confidence as the backup 7th when tension builds. The kids just aren't ready to handle minutes during crunchtime IMO. Even Moore hasn't reached the point where he is a solid roster spot on the 6 if you ask me. Also, if we want to cultivate guys like Moore, Allen, etc... its important that we can give them time to sit and watch in the box while having someone like Kaberle who is proven to be able to handle 10-15 min of icetime to sub in for them.

I don't care what he is thinking as long he is out on the ice for the Bolts gobbling up minutes and making our team better. He was an absolute steal for 4.5MM. He is doing great things with Matt f-ing Carle tied to him as his partner right now, Stralman is a stud for us. Cannot wait until Hedman is back as he and Stralman will make for a dynamic first pairing.

To be honest I have liked all the ex rangers - Boyle has helped our PK and 4th line plus he gets more chances to score in our system which makes him happy. Callahan has been great, since they moved him to Stamkos line he is producing points going to the dirty areas for rebounds off Stamkos shot as well as doing what he always did. I can't wait for the Drouin-Stamkos-Callahan line as it was you want a playmaker/passer-finisher-puck retriever.

I would say good luck tonight but I can't, sorry I want you guys to fall into the lottery by year end for selfish reasons of course...

Should be a good game.

Gotta love the complete lack of historical hockey knowledge while attempting to sound intelligent ... imagine if they did call the Stars and Sabers back onto the ice. Shold the goal have ounted, no ... but nothing to be one once the game was over and that was the Cup winning goal.
Lets just hope that one point wont make a difference come game 82.
As for Sid ... I reserve my judgement to is peers. When Jagr, a HOF lock, top 10 all time scorer, former Best player in the game and prince of Pittsburgh, who played along side Mario, tells Sid, while on the ice, to stop crying and to stay on his skates, thats enough for me.

The Bolts have your first round pick this year from the MSL trade, if the Rangers fall to the lottery well then the Bolts get a lottery pick... like I said selfish reasons.

Well said. The Penguins IMO are the worst representation of the NHL there is. Not one iota of sportsmanship and the biggest bunch of whiny hypocrites I've ever seen in my life from their Owner who threatened to pull his team out of the NHL after his team got shalacked(this after like you said years of Matt Cooke ending players careers, another example of the hypocrisy) at the Coliseum to their whiny, cry baby captain to their whiny, self entitled fans. There's no rivalry. Certainly no jealousy. Just hate shared by just about every fan of the sport except for those same whiny fans I referred too earlier.
