Agreed. Rebound control not very good, poor passing choices, kulemin & grabo have ruin into each other a few times tonight also. Hope they can turn it around here.

Jesus that was bad. If that power play didnt make you nauseous you always have Johnson to help the vomit out.

by my count, johnson has had one good game this year. all his wins other than one we had to continually outscore the soft goals he was giving up. Ride Halak.

Played pretty well for the last two periods, in my opinion- the first period was such a sh*t show, I almost turned it off....nothing I hate more than a game that's already 3-2, after the first. In the end, though, the bottom line is that Johnson was crap. Can't win when your goalie is crap.

Ideally, you have a reliable back-up to rest your 1st string goalie on back to back nights. If we don't have even that much in Johnson, I'd say that's a problem for Snow to address.

Can't play every night...one key indicator of whether or not this franchise has turned a corner at the top level is if they are willing to cut a guy they just signed when they give Brodeur or someone else a tryout and decide that guy is better than Johnson.

Not winning the game with only 2 goals against T-Bay anyway...CJ wasn't good enough but where the hell is JT, KO and others...passing practice not power plays....hardly got by Florida , figured they were toast against T-Bay...very good team...need to bounce back next game.hope Grabs is back soon I hope.....JT is pissing me off....

He was bad tonight but how quick we forget how great he was against the kings

I haven't forgotten that at all, what I'm pointing out is that he's had one good game, that game, and has allowed a number of very weak goals in the rest of the games he's played. That's a heck of an ask to keep allowing those and want your team to score more to get points. Gotta stop the ones you should stop.

I think that was Isles since 6's point........that was his one really good game. He won his other games, because the Isles scored in bunches, not because he was good.

yup, 3 bad goals against dallas, a gift he gave to the canes, tonight's mess, falling outside the goal crease against the avs... just a few examples. He's just not been good, I don't have confidence in his game. He's only effective when we limit the rebounds and keep shots to the outside, he's shown very little in the way of being able to make a big save. He doesn't seem to read the play well.

That's the kind of thinking that put Nabby on IR. How about this - play freakin' defense! That way the goalie doesn't have to be a brick wall in order for them to win.

Our defense wasn't great tonight but certainly wasnt why we lost. Halak is only 28, nabby was pushing 40.

Kidding of course...I obviously don't think they should replace Johnson as backup. Nice to see Poulin bouncing back a bit though.

The first goal was a brain fart by Hickey...if you're never going to get there in time to block the shot, it's best to just stay out of the way. Other than that, the goals were weak, especially the second one and the last one. You have to stop those two shots to keep your team in the game. I had this asinine argument with someone elsewhere about why it's better to give up less than two than to plan on scoring six, but he wasn't getting it. You can't blame the offense if you give up three....and especially more than three. This isn't water polo (although with the ice some nights in these buildings, I have to wonder). The way I see it, the backup has to play like 25 games. We can't lose 20 of them; it leaves the starter no margin for error. If this guy can't get it done at least half the time, they're going to have to find someone who will, and Poulin is not the answer to that question. They'll have to go and get someone else, if this continues.

Big game Tuesday night..they have played seven of eights games away and they're still at the top of the division...things are looking good...maybe Nabby starts against us on Tuesday. Hopefully Rangers and Tampa Bay play a hard hitting overtime game at the Garden on Monday night....

the one good thing about last night's loss is that washington, new jersey, philly and the rangers all lost as well.
