he thinks this is somehow a clever retort

No, I'm not trying to be witty or clever. Just tired of hearing about edmonton and the moves they're going to make for the last 5-6 years, and that "this is the year".

Habs fans sure bitter about Pouliot...

Maybe they need reminded of McDonagh as well...

You can throw all the players around you want. Apparently all the stars the Oilers have and all the ones Montreal has let slip away haven't stopped them from finishing near the bottom and the top respectively.

mact's had the job for less than half that time.
and hes been as or more active than any gm in the game in his short time as gm.

if you don't wanna continuously hear bs rumors, don't come to this site.
simple as that. you're annoyed with the rumour business, so u decide to trash Edmonton as a city??

and the 'this is their year' is media nonsense. if you want to actually know something about the oilers; watch them, do some of your own research. don't just take whatever the dudes on tv say as gospel. they have no more idea than most of the posters on this site.

if you don't wanna hear or know anything about the oilers, then switch off the tv and don't read the blogs

you still haven't finished near the top yet.
u were middling last year. in the east.

and the bottom in the west is pretty comparable to the top in the east.
just sayin

We finished 4th last year, 2nd the year before and we're sitting in first.

Claim the West is hard all you want, I don't see the Oilers in a playoff position in the East either.

I read that headline about Pouliot and almost thought it was April 1st.

I don't think any GM including MacT has forgotten the "WTF" moment everyone on the planet had the minute that signing was announced. "WTF the Oilers paid how much for Pouliot?"

The reason teams the top teams in the West tend to have more points than the top teams in the East is because they get to face the bottom feeders of the West more often and earn free points.

Most Canadians hockey fans support teams from their Country when it comes right down to it. There will always be small minded individuals that are quick to criticize a place they have no clue about other than what they read in the Montreal Gazette. Ever been out to these parts Jabroni?

Wait...what? Do the top Eastern teams not get to face the bottom feeders in their conference/division as much?

Which I guess is why the bottom feeders in the west all have winning records against the east...

The quantity and quality (or lack thereof) of poopty teams in the West is greater than the East.

That could be a factor as to why there are more poopty teams in the West than the teams in the East, true.

That doesn't really hold up when you consider at least 3 out of 5 bottom 5 teams since 2007 have been eastern teams.

For the record I feel like each conference has their strengths and weaknesses, their strong teams and weak teams.

Right. You're tired of Eklund. So it's pure cognitive dissonance that has you bashing the Oilers.
