My favorite RJ calls were anytime Hasek made a ridiculous save. Just the pure passion and excitement in his voice over what Hasek did made the save seem 10x more impossible than it really was. RJ also has a knack of making Rob Ray fights sound better than boxing matches... I miss the 90's. Best era of hockey

I realize that this is a down time and dinner and saturday and all that, but dammn. This thread is dead.

With RJ and Rob Ray fights and OT game winners on my mind, i am going to retrospect and list my favorite things about the history of the Sabres.

1. The Pominville OT winner against Ottowa in the playoffs. Ottowa had dominated us before this series. And the excitement of thinking we really had a great chance to win the cup that year.

2. The Brad May OT winner against Boston in the playoffs, "MayDay!" May got famous for that goal, but LaFontaine set him up so good and put the puck through Ray Borque's skates and faked the shot to freeze the goalie. That was exciting.

3. The Ottowa brawl. For a good time just look it up on Youtube, and enjoy. I loved Lindy Ruff on that night.

4. The Rob Ray fights. Especially against Domi.

5. Hasek

What do they all have in common? RJ called them all. And his enthusiasm is what made the moments magic. So I guess he should really be #1.

Honorable mention:
Chris Drury going face first into a shot lane to stop a shooter against the Isles in the playoffs.
Marty Biron and his post game/any interview. And the impressions of him by whoever did them for WGR.
The post lockout team.
Pominville outworking Ovechkin on the boards in the defensive zone on the PK and getting a short handed breakaway goal.
Miller at the Olympics.

If they do nothing, would be nice if they scored a goal in the first period.

He's better than Mitchell, D'Agostini, Gionta, Foligno (most nights) but for some reason has barely played the last 2 years
