The article I read on TSN says that had he known, he probably would have done things differently. Does he wish he was there right now? Sure. But that doesn't mean he regrets being here. It's just a terrible situation and I'm sure he'd love to be there for his Uncle.

From a career standpoint, I think he can make more of a mark being here than being in Ottawa as their GM once Bryan no longer is. I think that people would look at the roster there and everything and say that it was Bryan's work, not Tim's. Here in Buffalo, he has the opportunity to put his name on something without it being attached to anyone else's.

- HonkFortheGoose

Just read the article.

I agree with this evaluation 100%.

Well, that was a fun way to spend a Saturday morning, getting caught up on the posts...very entertaining

So, since the stories of Bryan Murray over the past couple of days...with quotes from Tim about how he has/is second guessing his decision....does anyone else have the though he might prefer to be the Sens GM and think he might want to leave the Sabres?

I read the link that Goose posted last night and things got sidetracked for a while on the thread and glad you brought it up now. I'm going to take his comments more so from an emotional and family stand point and not a knock or disconcerting towards his job with the Sabres. He got his dream job being a GM but I'm sure he wishes he was still with Ottawa, if nothing more than to be with his uncle and assisting him with the Sens.

Having said that though, if the Ottawa GM job came up in the future, he would take it. I think we might be looking at a new GM here in a few years.

A) I am my own boss. I own the company (w. partners).

B) I have a batch of cranberry that will be ready today: will be bottling that up and taking it to my dinner party tonight. Expecting that to be very good.

I was going to follow with something to the effect of, I'm not all that worried, sip...if he leaves, there will be plenty of qualified individuals interested in his job
- Michael Pachla

My guess would be that Craig Patrick would come in on an interim level. His "I second guessed everything" comment is a bit unnerving but he won't blow this opportunity to re-build this team.

Well said MHP...and Goosie.
I feel the same...not worries this minute...but wondering what happens when the inevitable happens with Bryan. Seems TM is very emotional and very close to his uncle...just wonder what if anything then pops into his head in that regard.
I like what Goosie says about his team here in Buffalo...hopefully that reality is more impactful than the emotional thoughts.

My favorite RJ call was after the october storm, I had no power and was sitting in my car to listen to the sabres play montreal. We were down I think 5-2 in the third period and we ended up winning. I believe that was the first time RJ used the "scary good" terminology. "These guys are good, scary good!" Just the feeling in his voice. It was better to listen to than watch I am sure.

I saw an interview of him saying that he had a call saved in the days of the malarchuk, andrechuk and hawerchuk sabres. Where if they were ever all involved with a goalxl, he had prepared, "here a chuk, there a chuk, everywhere a chuk chuk." Unfortunately he never had a chance to use it.

I love RJ, to me, he equates sabres hockey.

What's your favorite RJ call?

Gotta be the tying goal against the rangers in game 5. Sat in my sisters bedroom fiddling with the antena on her radio to try and get 550, could barely make out what they were saying but RJ was loud enough that i knew exactly what had happened

So many but I loved Dave Hannan's OT goal uhgainst the Devils and he says "going back to where Jimmy Hoffa is".

The Pominville OT goal was a good one too. "Now do you believe, these guys are good, scary good".

The Hasek save on Klatt and RJ says "we are not worthy".

Legion of doom, May day, top shelf, all classics.

I will always get goosebumps when I hear the Pominville OT winner against the Sens.

Another lesser known good one is the call "The bandwagon is heading to game 7 in Carolina, and there's plenty of room, JUMP ON." (or like that).

Agree on the Pommer goal. I loved how he turned Alfredsson inside out.

I remember another night when Mogilny scored a goal and I swear RJ went so crazy I thought he was going to have a heart attack.

The thing I remember most about RJ was when he was asked countless times over the years do you consider yourself the voice of the Buffalo Sabres, he would always answer it- No, that belongs to Ted Darling. That to me shows how respectful and classy RJ was towards his friend.

May Day, Pommer's OT goal, Drury's buzzer beater, and I think the Biron/Emery fight was pretty good too.

the 2016 5th is strange.

I am guessing this solidifies that Myers is only worth a 2015 3rd? (not trying to stir the pot, but couldn't resist)

My favorite RJ calls were anytime Hasek made a ridiculous save. Just the pure passion and excitement in his voice over what Hasek did made the save seem 10x more impossible than it really was. RJ also has a knack of making Rob Ray fights sound better than boxing matches... I miss the 90's. Best era of hockey
