Neuvirth looked good. Schultzie nailed it, he's the #1. Poor Jonas.

Enroth was given his shot. He isn't a terrible choice, but Neuvirth is the better option.

Neuvirth had shown flashes throughout his time in Wash, but I think things Down there have been so unsettled over the years that management has been trigger happy in everything they do.

I think it says a lot about TM's eye for talent that Neuvirth was one of his first moves, and looks like a big win.

(I would also love to know how many of TMs moves were "I want this guy" moves rather than "We gotta pay someone, let's see what he can do.")

In making that trade he had the option of Holtby or Neuvirth and clearly got the right guy.

I would re-sign Neuvirth for 3 years and let Hackett and Makarov battle it out for the backup spot. Ullmark is under contract but not sure if he comes over next year or maybe the year after.

I think Holtby may be the better option long term. I'm not entirely sold on Neuvirth either. He's played well so far but he's been inconsistent in the past and hasn't faired all that well in big games.

He might be but it's really difficult to say at this point. Both seemed to have similar stats in Washington and the games I saw Holtby play, I wasn't too impressed. I think they got the right guy, for now anyway.

They have two UFA goalies this year and they are going to need to re-sign, at the very least Neuvirth imo. The UFA goalie market next year is lousy. They could sign Greiss or Gustavsson but it isn't pretty if they go that route.

He's always intrigued me.

I definitely think Enroth looked better in preseason, but things seem to have shifted recently. The first month of the season wasn't really good for either Enroth or Neuvirth. But I think Neuvirth is really starting to grab ahold of the reins though. I'd love to see Enroth do well. But it seems that Neuvirth isn't going to give Nolan a choice but to start rolling him more frequently leaving Enroth on the bench again.

I said all summer that I thought Neuvirth was going to be a wild card for this team. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out back there.

I agree, looks like Neuvirth has seized this opportunity to be the #1. Enroth will get his games but maybe Neuvirth is thinking about his next contract and that's enough of a motivator. If I was Nolan I'd continue to play Neuvirth.

For some reason, the team doesn't play as well in front of Enroth. Not that the team has played well very much all season.
Just want one or the other to take the opportunity and run with it. That said, not sure Neuvirth is the long term answer...but time will tell and hopefully he provokes to be serviceable at the least.
