Hat, I think it's just the frustration of some of us older posters on this site that have seen it all.
Zadorov play says it all about Myers (making him look bad) Zad's sticking up for teammates, dropping the mits and throwing his body around! Calling out #57 for who he is

- Irish 14

Yes Zadarov has had a couple good games. I really wish Myers did that at 19 years old

Interesting read about Tim Murray and how he feels about his Uncle's battle with cancer.

I won't speak for you but one of the things i discovered later on (seems to be true of a lot of young pitchers these days) was that my poor shoulder posture was cutting my pitch count significantly cuz it just couldn't handle the movement the way it should. Just one of those little things that can mean so much.

Fun fact, in my younger days (slow pitch softball days) i actually played against Tanner's golden boy Max Domi

- Sabresfan-365

yeah i cant say i had the best coaches to teach me the correct technique so that very well may have been why. I do have to say i miss it a lot and wished i played in college. The only deterrent was the fact that the season was 80 games long and they practiced twice a day. That doesnt really bode well for a physical science major.

Last I checked, Myers won rookie of the year when he was 19.

I like what I've seen from Zadorov recently as well, but there are going to be speed bumps along the way with him. There's no guarantee we aren't having the same discussion about him in 5 years like we're having about Myers right now.

He ain't much Irish.
A flash in the pan is what Myers was and is.
It's apparent now.
Time is waaaay up on Myers.
Only the blind and stupid still think Myers is a keeper.
Get something...anything for him before that well runs dry too.

You have to have a winning mentality, punting is the opposite IMO. It says we have no confidence, please hand us the ball back soon
- sbroads24

I think that analytics has caused many to overreact concerning fourth down and I agree with what marrone had to say about the environment surrounding the statistics...there was a time when field position meant something and pinning a team back would help swing momentum...now because of analytics, it means nothing

Tough to hear, I can understand where he's coming from as to the regrets about not staying.

Speaking of tough news, got a chance to read Portzline's article about Horton, I almost teared up reading some of his quotes.

Go do something with your life would ya instead of living on this site.
Thank you.
Go play house with Myers or something.
You and buff19 just keep switching roles of mommy and daddy and confuse the young man more than he already is.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It doesn't make them blind and stupid. It just means they feel differently than you.

You're opinion isn't the standard, so it's really unfair to put yourself on that pedestal.

Yea coaching is a big one, looks to me as if only certain regions have access to the coaching that you would need. Lack of funding/interest probably the culprit

Agree Goose but some here act as if the last few years are just an illusion.

I'm 50/50 on him. I think the situation he's been put in over the years wasn't great. He's only 24 years old, and we all know that defensemen traditionally take longer to develop. While several of his peers seem to have figured things out already, you have to take into account that they've been in much more stable environments over the past 2 or 3 years in comparison to Myers.

I think what we've seen so far this year is a guy who is capable of being a solid guy back there when given the opportunity.

However, if Murray can trade him for a piece that he feels suits the rebuild better, I'm all for it. But he's worth more than just a 3rd rounder, and saying that's all we'll be lucky to get is selling him short.

If that's all people will offer, I'd rather take my chances that he'll blossom and keep him here.

You completely missed my point. Myers looked good at 19, just like Zadorov does right now. There's no guarantee that Zadorov continues to get better. He could have struggles over the next 5 years just like Myers had had.

He's not going to be a true championship-caliber #1 defenseman. He can, however, still be a very good top pairing or even a #3 defenseman. At $5.5 million, that's not the worst contract in the world.
