His rationale was a good one, actually. Simmonds needsbetter playmakers to get him the puck.
- bmeltzer

All 3 of the players needed that on that line. Not a real good mix. Flyers could really use another play maker. Let's see if Akeson can help with that.

I'm interested in how the vinny line looks. Really liked the chemistry between PEB and akeson however and hope we see that again soon

With that rationale, don't you become an easier team to defend against with all your playmakers on one line?

I'd like to see Bellemare playing with Lecavalier. I didn't see any great chemistry between Bellemare and Akeson.

How many hat tricks will Chaput and Hartnell each score tonight?

What helps is the Couturier line is playing well. If they can keep playing well it will go a long way to taking pressure of the Giroux line.

Well there isnt anyone else that can feed Simmonds the puck and the
Schenn-Couts-Read line looks like it can be something good. So now we need the Vinny line to get going. Id rather have 2 lines going than just the Giroux line cause Simmonds wont score at even strength enough on any other line. I hope it works out for the best. If it doesnt than Raffl can move back up when he returns.

I see raffl going back to the top line. Unless this line completely blows everyones doors off. I prefer Wayne on the right wing with a Playmaking type center. Maybe Laughton and Wayne can pair in the future

When everyone is healthy, I'd love to see Raffl/Lecavalier/Bellermare.

I don't know if they're looking for Simmonds to be a playmaker, per se. The line he was one previously was getting him nowhere in 5v5 play.

And since Giroux is firing so many shots these days, that line could probably benefit from a dominant net presence.

The Couturier - BSchenn combo has been working out....let's hope it continues.

The Umberger - Lecavalier combo is kind of like the island of misfit toys. Let's hope my boy Art Ross Akeson can spark them a bit.

Next year our forward grouping could shake out like this

Raffl-giroux-voracek
Schenn-couturier-read
Leier-Laughton-Simmonds
Rinaldo-PEB-lecavalier

You just might.

Ryan White might supplant PEB at 4L center, allowing you to move PEB up on a wing.

Agreed. I'm waiting for Read to kick into gear because it's only a matter of time.

Speaking of Del Zotto, this is one of those times I'd love to hear Scott Hartnell mic'd up to hear him chirp both MDZ and Giroux about their off ice activities.

I wonder if Abul-Kubel could sneak in.

More likely that Lecavalier is traded before being moved to RW on the 4th line. And I wouldn't expect Leier to jump right into the 3rd line.

Yea, but that's 6 weeks away. Damn....wish schenn was a better playmaker. I don't know why I hate him so much, lol.

Stop deviating from the narrative. Hartnell is going to post multiple points tonight, and the Umburglar will post a gaffe-laden minus 3 with a half dozen atrocious giveaways.

So does Rinaldo just take a run at Hartnell with a heavy clean hit and just get this going tonight?

Simmonds will be the guy creating havoc in front of the net on the top line. He's a feisty player that can stand his ground well. That should open up a lot of chances for everyone on that line. He might not win all of the battles, but he will definitely make his presence known. If G and Voracek can get some good quality shots through, he's got the talent to make things happen down low.
