I think the Ducks have a prospect in the WHL named Shea Theodore. He's a finesse guy though
- PhillySportsGuy

Shea is such a whiskey tango name, lol.

They do, that's what sparked my interest.

You're missing the point. Lindros was among the best in the league then, Giroux is among the best now.
- SuperSchennBros

I don't think it's a true comparable. Lindros was arguably the best player in the game for a few seasons. Giroux will prob never reach that conversation as long as Crosby and Stamkos are around, etc. Giroux is like a Mats Sundin, which is nothing to sneeze at at all.

Giroux was a finalist for the Hart Trophy last season. He has already reached that conversation.

Based on what I remember reading, I don't think you'll like him. There were thoughts of switching him to forward.

You think Mats Sundin was nothing to sneeze at? Terrible name drop because that guy is a Hall of Fame guarantee. Terrible example as a whole.

But, it does

Yeah, but what do advanced analytics say about it?

Analytics don't matter, I SAW it rise in the northwest 3 days ago

Litrilly

Yeah, well that's barely adequate

Vinnie's slow

They like Willcox as a no-frills puck mover who is solid in his end of the ice. So, yes, I think he might be an ELC candidate.

Fredde is playing Division 1 (second tier minor league) hockey back in Sweden. Injuries and food allergies (which have made it tough for him to put on weight) set him back a lot. The Flyers no longer hold his rights.

what about Michael Parks?

From 73 to his neck injury in the fall of 75, Parent played as well as any goalie ever.

73-74 1.89gaa, 12 shutouts, 47 wins: Vezina, Smythe 1st team all star
74-75 2.03gaa 12 shutouts 44 wins: Vezina, Smythe, 1st team all star

He was that damn good!

- BiggE

I know Montreal was a dynasty but I still believe had they had Bernie in 76 they would have won a 3rd cup.

Very possible, also don't count out the loss of Macleish. Scotty Bowman has said that with Macleish injured they were able to concentrate on just shutting down Clarke. The Flyers biggest strengths in the cup years were goaltending and center. With Macleish out (knee injury) and Bernie at far less than 100% they had no chance against Montreal.

However, even with a depleted lineup, each of the first 3 games were one goal games and I believe the Flyers actually had the lead in 2 of them at one point. The LCB line, especially Leach, singlehandedly kept them in the first 3 games.

Stop dealing in hypotheticals, we're all here to discuss the facts.

That, and to inflate our egos by telling everyone else that their opinions are wrong as maliciously as possible.
