Doctors though, can see many different patients in a day, if they are a GP, or if they are a specialist, they can at least usually get the feeling of helping somebody.

Lawyerin', even if you're a character like Lawyerin' Joe Amendola, is a ton of research and paperwork.

- Jsaquella

its just a shame. so much of the profession is a joke. you dont make anything or do anything tangible. a lot of it is fixing problems caused by other lawyers, seemingly just so someone will have to fix them.

it is a very self propagating profession.

then all of the things that youd love to be able to do with your degree to actually benefit and help people, you cant because it doesnt pay.

I asked him how as a judge, he remembers everything he needs to know. He said he doesn't. That's why he has 3 law clerks to research and look stuff up.

Thats the best. When you get old and make money off of everyone else at the firm.

In the US, far too much time is spent trying to get elected, and far too little spent governing. Basically, at the national level, these guys are simply putting their name on bills written by lobbyists who throw tons of cash at them.

I just stockpile enough money to escape to Canada when somebody like Donald Trump or Keith Olbermann becomes president

- Jsaquella

Thats true, but they also assume the risk. I worked in commercial real estate and while it sucked to have to work with certain attorney's, it did feel good to pass all of the risk to the attorney.

Ahhh, don't worry...in 4 or 5 years your idealism will be dead and you'll be comparing who has the nicest business card at lunch

I was considering going and I talked to my wife's cousin. He said "If you like making money, screwing people over and don't mind working a lot, law is for you."

That turned me off a bit. All of my friends who are lawyers are miserable right now. I know it gets better once you work your way up, but it sucks in the beginning.

yeah. im not lazy by any stretch, but there are priorities. i dont know. ive really just been having a lot of thoughts about it. uncertainty kills me. but i mean im halfway in so im going to finish, but i just have absolutely no idea what i want to even attempt to do.

At least then you can kind of laugh at it. Trump and Olbermann actually take themselves seriously. There's a sort of feeling that Ford accepts and even embraces that most people take him as seriously as Shemp Howard

Yeah. I know people like that too. I would recommend following through and getting a job in law even if you don't like it right away. The experience is the most important thing. Then you can branch out a bit.

The whole scene where he has the nail gun behind Chloe Sevigny's head is just too much.

UPDATE: Perry and Beauchemin test results reveal both have the mumps. Both players are considered day to day.
